I have been working at Steven Madden part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great environment. Customers are on the higher end at the mall so they are all nice, not very demanding. Easy job if you know all of the options to give your customers.

    Cons

If you don't like customer service, this job is not for you. Commission based sales, which means it is cutthroat on the sales floor.

    Advice to Management

No specific advice. It's a very friendly environment and the discount is stellar.

I worked at Steven Madden part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great discount, very on trend and enjoyable if you're into fashion. I loved my coworkers at my specific store and all the sales goals were very doable.

    Cons

Lack of communication within store management and HR. Too many incidents where management simply didn't know how to manage.

    Advice to Management

Work on communication within your store. It's important to work as a team rather than just being a "boss".

    Pros

fun work environment when I joined. The manager and my co-workers are all around the same age and we got along really well. No dramas or stealing sales

    Cons

expect you to meet hourly quota without commission. min wage job, good for those who are looking for work exp or first job

    Advice to Management

store managers are usually chill, but the district manager is pretty uptight about numbers and sales

I worked at Steven Madden full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The general day-to-day office environment was very relaxed and welcoming, the people were great, and there were awesome perks (especially the employee discount).

    Cons

The sales coordinator position is prefaced to be 6 months to a year with room for growth after you hit that year point; however, there's very few opportunity to grow. I also found in my experience that they would take someone from outside the company before allowing someone in the company who came with internal references to be promoted. Additionally, I think that employees are underpaid compared to other competitive corporations in the field.

    Advice to Management

Don't tell perspective employees that they could move up after a certain period of time if that's really not an attainable goal.

    Pros

Great team effort, decent organizing skills, every question was answered and effective help was given when needed.

    Cons

The manager got frustrated a lot, wasn't pleasant to work with and complained about her employees not looking the way she saw fit.

    Advice to Management

As long as your workers are happy and comfortable, turn-over won't be so high and sales will remain on top.
