I have been working at Steven Madden (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great discount and very quickly ability to move up to a leadership role within company.

    Cons

Store management is required to work 45 hours a week. All management is required to work on Saturday and Sundays. If you want a Saturday off you have to use a vacation day.

    Advice to Management

Let management have rotating weekends off, it would definitely boost morale and stop as much employee turnover.

    Pros

Maybe the corporate discount, health insurance coverage is good

    Cons

Worked in the corporate office. Probably the worst job experience ever. No direction whatsoever, no training.

    Advice to Management

Hire new management, replace who has been there forever

I have been working at Steven Madden full-time

    Pros

Very healthy work environment in the corporate office, with many events tailored for the employees to feel taken care of: monthly 'cake' days, (one day every month, all the birthdays of employees are celebrated with multiple cakes in the communal kitchen) employee sample sales and discounts, health screenings, blood drives, and holiday parties. Mostly stress-free.

    Cons

The company is so big, sometimes communication can get strained between departments when working on a bigger project.

    Cons

I worked at Steven Madden (Less than a year)

    Pros

-Easy job where you can easily acheive sales goals.
    -Friendly staff
    -Free/discounted shoes

    Cons

-Pay minimum wage no matter what your experience level is.
    -Could have more employee incentives/discounts

    Advice to Management

Great environment to work in, fashionable with good music always playing, The minimum wage pay was painful considering after 10 years in retail, the store achieved some of the highest monthly sales targets that I have seen outside of department stores. Their turnover rate must be high despite it being a decent job.

I worked at Steven Madden full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Loved everything about it. It was great from the moment Lysa interviewed me. She is probably the best boss I've ever worked for. We had a great team! Very laid back place as long as you got your job done. My best friend still works there. Shout out to Jr aka Ryan, Colon, Cindy, Mike, Angie, Stephanie and of course my great boss Lysa. Miss ya!

    Cons

The only con was parking. Oh one more con is that there is no job for me to continue working with the company in Florida. So Steve if you want to open another store on Florida let me. I'll be more than happy to mange it. Lysa and Jr have my number lol.

    Advice to Management

Make sure you never let any of the AP crew go. They work very well today. Lysa and Ishri bring out the best in their employees.

    Pros

Sample sales, birthday cake month, breakfast Friday

    Cons

Unless you're a designer there's absolutely no room for growth. Directors always apear to be doing nothing while everyone below then is constantly busy.

    Advice to Management

Flex time would be nice since the hours are long. Summer Fridays would be cool. Promotions to associates who have been loyal to you and your company even though they're not in the design area
