I worked at Steven Madden full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Perks include great sample sales and fun environment- holiday parties etc. Good for resume.

    Cons

Low pay. Promised raises never given. Hard to work your way up. Most people stay in same position with low pay for years. Don't stay over 2 yrs without moving departments.

    Advice to Management

Give raises when more responsibility is given.

"Has its ups and downs but definitely an energic aura streams through the product, just as much as through the employees"

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Steven Madden full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I love the enthusiam and energy of the company, its very positive, youthful, and upbeat. This makes working for the company very easy and enjoyable. You will not be mad about heading to work in mornings.

    Cons

With every company, there is always aspects that need improvement. When it comes to Steve Madden, organizational skills needs to be restuctured as a company. Rules and regulations vary depending on the situations when in my opinion, should be always black and white. Rules are rules and should always be followed. This prevents confusion and favoritism.

    Advice to Management

Stay humble! You guys are awesome but make sure rules are kept within the departments and standards are followed. It would make our jobs way easier :-)

    Pros

    Cons

Micromanaged, work overload, not enough pay, no place to grow, very cliquish, must kiss up to get promoted, a lot of false promises

    Advice to Management

    I worked at Steven Madden

    Pros

It feels as though you are living in a family. This includes the casual atmosphere, the many friendships, and fun office activities. They also have fairly decent benefits.

    Cons

The management seems to be very disorganized and somewhat old fashioned. Training is barely there. The office is too small for how many people are there.

    Advice to Management

Please offer a decent training program for all positions. Also, the possibility of newer computer programs for order entry and even (on a separate note) expense report processing could make certain things run smoothly.
