I worked at Stevens-Henager College full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The students wanted to better themselves and that is the only thing that made the job enjoyable.

    Cons

Overworked, under appreciated and really just not a great company since it was for profit and didn't really have the students in mind.

I have been working at Stevens-Henager College

    Pros

    Good salary for minimal experience

    Cons

Unorganized management. If someone leaves, they don't hire other people. They divide job duties between other employees so everyone is doing 3 or 4 jobs.

    Advice to Management

    Hire enough staff.

    Negative Outlook

    I worked at Stevens-Henager College full-time

    Pros

Co-workers are top-notch teachers and professionals.

    Cons

Management lacks vision and honesty with students. It's all about doing the bare minimum to qualify for federal aid to the students. When a student gets in trouble, their bottom line is more important than the students' financial future. Consider carefully before you get involved.

    I worked at Stevens-Henager College full-time

    Pros

Great local team to work with. Supportive director and wonderful people to work with. There was a great balance between fun and work.

    Cons

Admissions department and academic departments seemed at odds sometimes.

    Advice to Management

    Focus on quality vs quantity.

I have been working at Stevens-Henager College

    Pros

The upper management truly values employees and works to promote from within. Input from everyone on the team is always encouraged and considered. There is a great atmosphere of teamwork. Great work like balance. I feel valued every day I'm at work. The Chairman of the Board is such an inspiring person and great values.

    Cons

Unfortunately, there are negative opinions about the college.

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing a great job!

I have been working at Stevens-Henager College full-time for more than a year

      Pros

Great starting pay for new admissions people, fairly flexible schedule, free tuition after 1 year

      Cons

No pay raises, inconsistent management, faculty needs some work

      Advice to Management

Have yearly reviews for employees with the potential for raises. Without them, people don't feel motivated to improve. Spend more time and money on improving the faculty.

I have been working at Stevens-Henager College full-time for more than a year

      Pros

Fair wages and plenty of parking

      Cons

This review is specifically about the West Haven, UT campus. Dishonest. Poor benefits. Myself and fellow faculty were treated horribly. One individual needed to go on FMLA but when she notified HR they illegally reported it to her supervisor who confronted her. Students know they can threaten with legal action to get grades changed even if they don't earn them. Faculty are constantly pushed to pass students regardless...

      I worked at Stevens-Henager College

      Pros

The Pay. The Office is pretty.

      Cons

Be aware that often as not, SHC and Independence University Management enter fake reviews into several sites to try to make the company look better. I'm not sure the ethics of anyone who would work for a school constantly under scrutiny by the Department of Education and who lied to students saying they were Non Profit when only their San Diego school was. Quality of education is poor and I still feel grieved that my...

I have been working at Stevens-Henager College

      Pros

Working so closely with students in a small class environment. Being able to see directly how your instruction has connected with what they already knew and see them connect it to new information.

      Cons

There is a disconnect in between the different campuses. With campuses all over the west, with states that have differing regulations, it is difficult to keep campuses similar.
