I worked at Stevens-Henager College full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The majority of the employees were great people and they truly care about the success of the students who attended the campus.

    Cons

The College slowed down drastically when it was put on probation by it's accrediting body and forced to stop enrollment in the programs that a large percentage of students enrolled in. Every campus is different but the campus I worked for had a tenured yet unexperienced/unprofessional management team. They lacked the basic knowledge and skill sets required to be successful leaders. The leaders there were quick to look...

    Advice to Management

Local management needs to be accountable for their actions and take ownership for them personally versus blaming them on others above them. Be honest and forth coming with your employees. When dealing with employee sensitive information don't share or discuss it with individuals that aren't involved, it's very unprofessional.

I have been working at Stevens-Henager College full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Fair wages and plenty of parking

    Cons

This review is specifically about the West Haven, UT campus. Dishonest. Poor benefits. Myself and fellow faculty were treated horribly. One individual needed to go on FMLA but when she notified HR they illegally reported it to her supervisor who confronted her. Students know they can threaten with legal action to get grades changed even if they don't earn them. Faculty are constantly pushed to pass students regardless...

    I worked at Stevens-Henager College

    Pros

The Pay is good, but that's about it.

    Cons

*Rolls Eye* Oh Please "Department of Education is out to get small colleges." There's a reason. I felt like I lost my soul working for Stevens Henager. It's about money first and foremost, don't be fooled otherwise. They are one of the highest priced for profit colleges. They have people take out student loans, and then have them take out private loans through the school. In the end someone likely is going to have...

    Advice to Management

I do hope that the Fed. does continue to investigate Stevens Henager. The school needs to be put under high scrutiny for it's practices.

    I worked at Stevens-Henager College

    Pros

This is a perfect environment to accommodate for adult students that want to further their education to make up for the lack of education as a teenager. The majority of the students understand the accountability of a good education.

    Cons

If the school is not accredited, employers snub their noses at students from a college from profit, simply charge the $60,000.00 in fees, save everyone their time and print out a diploma one the fees are paid. This piece of paper holds no value in the real world.

    Advice to Management

Accountability for all the teachers, administration and proper credentials (degrees from out of country administrators/deans) and for all professors that are teaching within your system. Lead with example not with foreign degrees that will not pass a simple nursing acceptance.
