I worked at Stone Energy full-time

    Pros

The people there are great and easy to get along with and the teams work well together.

    Cons

The company tried to become larger than it was and bit off more than it could chew. Reviewing processes bogged the company down and resulted in over analyzing everything.

    Advice to Management

Cut back on the processes and try to remove bias from reviews.

    Pros

Very Pro-Active. Looking to make the best investment for the dollars available. Superior engineering and geologic staff.

    Cons

Somewhat segmented as to right hand knowing what left hand is doing. Too many offices for working staff creating excessive G&A.

    Advice to Management

Focus on what you do best and stick to it. There is a reason that Stone is not a deep water player. CAPITAL (or lack of).

    Pros

Benefits are verrrry good. Work autonomy allows complete control of projects - very little micro-managing from supervisors.

    Cons

Due to the small size of the company (<400 employees), there is little possibility for upward advancement.

    Advice to Management

Need to remain focused on OCS Shelf area - leave deep water plays to larger entities. Do not position company's future just to appease BOD
