    Pros

This is an awesome company to work for ownership truly believes in providing outstanding service and a quality product. The company invests back into their assets and takes tremendous care of it's associates. It was a pleasure to work with Jack Paul (Vice President). He is an amazing person that takes the time necessary to ensure his subordinates are prepared and mentors them into better leaders.

I worked at Stonebridge Companies full-time for more than 8 years

    Pros

I worked for Stonebridge for a total of 8 years with a short break in the middle (hotel management gets very draining). Through that time, the company grew from managing around 25 hotels to over 50 hotels, which provided great opportunity for promotions and experience. Loved the improvements in corporate systems over the years, the increasingly better senior managers and overall direction the company is taking.

    Cons

Due to the rapid growth, performance was demanding. Considerable amount of reporting to corporate sometimes got in the way of working with hotel guests. Metrics were initially biased toward revenues, not service but in recent years, there has been a significant change toward service first, which results in improved revenues.

    Advice to Management

Be careful to promote within whenever possible as this is a prime motivating factor for associates.

I have been working at Stonebridge Companies full-time

    Pros

The company has seen some amazing growth and hitting more major markets. It took a little bit but the company is now offering dept manager bonuses coupled with lodging benefits after a year. Pretty unique performance awards for property leadership roles as well.

    Cons

Recent changes have definitely helped with reporting but there are a couple of systems that are still archaic in their ways.

    Advice to Management

Lots of the correct changes have been made and feel the new direction is the correct direction. Lets try to keep the focus the same!

    Pros

Great advancement opportunities. Corporate is very involved with the properties, but is not overbearing. Jack Paul does a great job working with his team.

    Cons

Benefit package is pretty bad. Especially the Medical Benefits offered for Associates and their families

    Advice to Management

Better benefit package options and prices.

I worked at Stonebridge Companies full-time for more than a year

    Pros

I very much enjoyed my time working for Stonebrige Companies. As a first time GM I was given the assistance I needed to perform well. The biggest strength of the company is there senior leaders. Randy is a hospitality professional trough and trough and has hired very well when it comes to the VP's of the company. Since the arrival of the new COO Chris Manley the company has really taken a step to the next level. He has...

I have been working at Stonebridge Companies for more than a year

    Pros

I have worked with Stonebridge Companies over two years now. We are a company that is moving in a great direction. We have a new COO (Chris Manley) who has changed the image for us. Employee recognition, incentive programs, competitive wages and a safe work environment has become top priority. Our Vice President of Operations (Jack B. Paul) is a great role model who develops and grows his staff to become the best they...

I have been working at Stonebridge Companies

    Pros

I have worked for this company for almost 4 years and I love it here. I started as an FOM and after 9 months was promoted to GM. This company gave me an amazing opportunity that will shape the rest of my career. The first year as GM was a little rough. It was the opposite of micromanagement. I only saw my boss once in that year, Luckily I knew other people in the company and made it through. In the last 2 years the company...

    Cons

The company is growing fast and might experience some growing pains if they grow too fast. The main problem I see happening is the addition of corporate employees. They will need to add more IT and purchasing employees. They don't have hotels on the coasts.

    Advice to Management

    Continue to add corporate employees.

    I worked at Stonebridge Companies

    Pros

At first sight they seem to be well organized, I relocated to another state to work for Stonebridge due to the fact that I was very impressed with the Regional Manager that did my interview.

    Cons

I soon discovered that the property I took over had an issue keeping GM's. The expectations where high unfortunately the company did not provide the necessary support to bring the property up to Brand Standards. There where never enough General Managers. GM's got swamped down with so much paperwork and reports that it was overwhelming. It is hard as a new GM to get caught up when you start 2 years behind! And what made...

    Advice to Management

Get your heads out of the clouds and come down to earth. Treat employees with the respect you expect from them. And please stop acting like you are above and better then the hotel staff, There are a few wonderful people that work at the Denver office but to many and far between for such a large company. I believe that the wonderful vision that started this company has been lost. Time to get back to basics.

I worked at Stonebridge Companies full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Hospitality is defined: Showing respect for ones guest. Your associates are your " internal guests". Stonebridge needs to get a clue!

    Cons

Salaried individuals are worked to death and ultimately let go without in-depth investigation of alleged performance issues. The company indicates it has strong HR policies and procedures in place. However, they did not follow these in my case. They have a terrible reputation for turnover and it is only a very small percentage of salaried associates who have worked there for longer than 3-5 yrs.

    Advice to Management

"Walk your Talk"! Long term associates who have had stellar performance, meeting or exceeding all of your performance bench marks should NOT be pushed out of the company simply because a couple of managers decide they don't like the leader. Your ability to spend the time necessary to investigate issues should go well beyond speaking to a few people. In today's work environment unless you start to care for the person...
