    Disapproves of CEO

I worked at Stony Brook University Medical full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Teaching facility where you can get a good foundation on the latest evidence based practice as a RN. Educators are good here.

    Cons

Terrible staffing ratios, and pay. RN's are paid about $10,000 more at other surrounding hospitals on Long Island. They will continue to proclaim that their pension is the most attractive aspect but you'll actually get more for retirement if you saved some of the extra money you'd be making at other hospitals. Most managers don't really care about concerns or wellbeing of their employees. Institution is very much into ensuring that everything looks like its working as opposed to it actually working. Aesthetics is where a lot of this hospitals budget goes.
