I have been working at Stonyfield Farm full-time

    Pros

As one of the other reviews wrote, "social programs, very green, good to employees, lots if fun events and activities", and to top that all the free yogurt you could want. If your into the green thing, there is a lot to get involved with and is amazing! The environmental philosophy of this place should set the standard for larger corporations.

    Cons

It's very frustrating when you know you can make huge impact for the better but you have to go behind the curtains to make things work. IS/IT configuration is not setup correctly, in general is very broken. Ideas are receive and ignored as it seems any change is feared and just not understood. The level of competence is at a minimum with a huge overhead.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the people who can make great impact, support their ideas and thoughts, accept change.

    Pros

great people who really live the mission of stonfield focused on creating a great organic product

    Cons

Since the acuqisition lack of investment from Dannon to keep the facility modern; there is a major salary disparity between Dannon and legacy stonyfield employees; , many folks dont like remote location; lack of good lunch options

    Advice to Management

hopefully the pending sale will keep jobs in NH and return stony to a mission based company

I worked at Stonyfield Farm full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Middle management was great, employees are generally friendly, available overtime

    Cons

Upper management is TERRIBLE. I cannot emphasize this enough. Warehouse is falling apart. Outdated equipment. Do not listen to workers advise on improving systems. Too worried about todays bottom line to make tomorrows improvement

    Advice to Management

Be extraordinarily careful of who you select to oversee departments. Some of these guys are straight slime

I worked at Stonyfield Farm full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Stonyfield was a great small company to work for... but unfortunately, Gary sold out for the money and abandoned all the great people who worked so hard to build up the company. I guess I don't blame him, but the great place now is just a little factory working for the man.

    Cons

Once Danone took over, they gave the wonderful Oikos to Dannon to mass produce, Stonyfield took the hit for that, then it was Danone's excuse to take over the management. I regretfully left the company, but by now wouldn't have a job anyway because all my coworkers are gone or going soon.. not their choice. so sad. I no longer buy the yogurt I loved.. somehow leaves a bitter taste...

    Advice to Management

    Take the money and run

    Pros

Benefits were great, then after donne took over the great family values of the company went down hill.Brown cow yogurt was the best made until donne changed it and closed the Antioch CA Plant...Shame on you! Co-workers were great hardworking !

    Cons

Family company that sold out for the holy brown cow dollar. They hide behind there earth statements but only care if the CASH COW is producing.

    Advice to Management

Was it worth it Gary? You had a great brand and company and sold out! Follow Chobani and learn some things! Bring back the Frisbee!

I worked at Stonyfield Farm full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

PTO policy, long term employees who have somehow managed to hang on. Some flexibility with schedule but usually only if you are part of the good old boy club

    Cons

Toxic morale, future plans to eliminate and/or relocate positions out of state to Dannon. Due to these plans vacant positions due to people quitting go unfilled. No attempt is even made to fill them since all positions will be eliminated by 2017

    Advice to Management

No advice. Company is too far gone.

I worked at Stonyfield Farm full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Some great individuals who truly care about the company and the mission. free yogurt. However Danone is consistently diluting the mission without adding much.

    Cons

1- major salary gap between people who came from Danone and those who came from stonyfield. It is not uncommon for a 30k gap in salary for 2 people with same experience in same role

2- complete lack of diversity at the director level and above there are ZERO people of color, despite having a very high percent of 2nd and 3rd shift workers being of color.

    Advice to Management

Embrace diversity. If you want to be a national brand, you leadership team should look like America

I worked at Stonyfield Farm (More than 8 years)

    Pros

It used to be a great company to work for. Sadly with the Danone takeover it has gone down hill. Many have been laid off, many foreigners have come in to take over jobs once held by locals. It used to be a relaxed fun company to work for. Not so much anymore.

    Cons

Very corporate. Watch your back. Fun atmosphere and great benefits have vanished. It is very sad to see the company go down the tubes with the most recent being the visitor center closing its doors. Not a secure place to be.

    Advice to Management

Bring back the old Stonyfield Farm culture. Stop being so corporate and stuffy. There is a reason the products are not doing well. The website doesn't reflect or promote the green culture and the social media is abominable at best.

    Pros

Pay is fair after many many years!

    Cons

Dealing with most people in Corp office is a pain. Rude and they think they are the best, always looking a way to step on your toes.

    Advice to Management

Hire people with a heart, Stop selling out to make more money.

    Pros

Stonyfield is great for social programs, very green, good to employees, lots if fun events and activities

    Cons

All IS configuration and development done in Manila by inexperienced developers. Users hang on to old manual processes and don't include IS in projects. Users don't want to do testing. Very frustrating environment.

    Advice to Management

Include IS in projects. Accept change. Staff up so people have time to work w with IS on projects.
