I worked at Stora Enso full-time

    Pros

Casual dress and depending on your supervisor may be very good

    Cons

Long hours and depending on your supervisor may be very bad

    Advice to Management

Focus more on employees as there has been a significant number leaving and its the best employee's that leave first.

I worked at Stora Enso full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - colleagues with good experience and right working manner
    - consumer board and bio material offer lots of positions which can get touch with many industries and applications

    Cons

    - still the same "old paper industry" behavior and mentality
    - slow decision making from top to middle management
    - on execution level, knowledge and experience shortage is quite obvious at many places

    Advice to Management

For those who really want to make a career break through, go somewhere else.

I have been working at Stora Enso full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good culture with good values and deep product knowledge.
High management is open to ideas for innovation and middle management accepts some cultural differences in multi-country teams.

    Cons

Packaging, Timber & Biomaterials business areas are considered as the future of the company, but they are still consuming cash generation from Paper Division and invest elsewhere.
Often employees say that management do not see a future for Paper and could get rid of this division as well as most employees working for it.

    Advice to Management

European markets are priority and cost less, but customers overseas should not be ignored nor have supplies cut by mills quotas very often.

    Pros

Good salary. Management allows you to plan your tasks & get on with doing them.

    Cons

Packaging, Timber & Bio are all business areas of the future however they take the cash from the Paper Division & invest elsewhere. Management do not see a future for Paper & would get rid of this division at the drop of a hat.
