    Pros

Good colleagues that work for the company, there are many wonderful and caring people that work throughout the firm in various office locations.

    Cons

Awful management and leadership with zero understanding of how to lead teams or groups of individuals. Very selfish and unappreciative of hard work and effort contributed.

I worked at Stout full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The people are great, everyone is fairly approachable. Definitely a learning environment, managers are all fantastic. Really cool client work as well.

    Cons

It's difficult to think of a con for SRR, however, I would say possibly the difficulty in switching groups, granted if you ask and wait, they truly do their best in moving people. I've seen plenty of analysts move between groups.

    Advice to Management

Keep the open door policy, you guys also do a great job in sourcing clients and keeping people motivated.

I have been working at Stout (More than a year)

    Pros

Very entrepreneurial firm with a young culture. Management is interested in developing the more junior staff.

    Cons

Very lean attitude by management. Management often sign up for engagements with extremely tight deadlines, which are often perceived by staff to be the jobs that no one else would take because they will be so strenuous.

    Advice to Management

Focus on employee morale at the more junior levels and learn to reject certain opportunities if they aren't in the best interest of the group.

I have been working at Stout full-time

    Pros

    Junior banker responsibilities
Slim deal teams = heavy exposure with Client BODs
You have a voice with Senior level bankers
Analysts have the ability to drive the sales process
    Diversity of industry verticals
Analysts have maximum exposure to all aspects of a deal

    Cons

    Limited Training
Best analysts can get overstaffed, leading to burnout
Lean deal teams may sometimes result in senior level bankers ignoring deals and leaving analysts to handle entire phases of the deal

    Advice to Management

Invest in training programs utilized by competitors
    Chase larger deals
Focus on hiring senior bankers that will bring on bigger deals and allow the investment banking arm to grow
Align junior level pay (salaries) with competition on the street to prevent burnout

Work with great people and learn a lot. Hours aren't too bad especially compared to investment banking. Get to work with managers and managing directors.

    Cons

Normal cons with client service business: can be long hours, tough deadlines, last minute work. There is a fair amount of turnover in the analyst ranks.

    Pros

They care about their employees as people, passionate about how they represent clients, solid core values that are understood throughout the company.

    Cons

very much an "move up or get out" strategy with career paths, and lower level employees experience long hours without minimal regard to work life balance.
