I worked at Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young LLP full-time for more than a year

      Pros

If you enjoy doing nothing (literally sitting at your desk all day), this may be the job for you.

      Cons

Work is distributed such that some employees are completely flooded with unmanageable amounts of work while others more or less sit around. This is management’s fault, not the fault of the employees. During the whole time I worked there, an innumnerable number of employees at all levels (lawyers, administrative leaders, tech, assistants) told me to start looking for new jobs. Morale was laughably low and employees were...

      Advice to Management

The re-organization is going terribly and needs to be re-thought. Those who haven’t left are trying to leave. Work is poorly distributed. Hire and office manager.

I worked at Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young LLP full-time for more than a year

      Pros

Working with individuals you find people are nice. Attorneys know law well. Former CIO is gone.

      Cons

The business end of things was a horror story, especially in IT. From the unnecessary projects, to rushing projects without a business need for rushing, to hiding projects from staff when it affected them, to the former CIO actually not trusting his entire department (he said this), to the high turnover rate one can sense that business people who know customer service and human resource skills were not in the lead.

      Advice to Management

Don't hide projects from staff that affect them. Trust your new IT staff, without them you wouldn't be making the money you are making. Learn to set priorities by analyzing importance and urgency of the business need.

I worked at Stradley Ronon Stevens & Young LLP

        Pros

A lot of the attorneys are nice; health benefits are okay; They are flexible with work time as long as you hit 40 hours per week.

        Cons

Low pay for admins; a handful of rude partners who can get away with murder just because they bring in the most $$$; support staff not valued. Archaic rules that don't fit with the times.

        Advice to Management

Hire people in HR with real leadership experience and the firm will be a better place for all. Also promote from within to make the company culture better for all.
