I have been working at Strata Decision Technology full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

An excellent environment for young professionals looking to begin their career in tech, healthcare, and to some extent finance. The company also has a fun atmosphere to work in.

    Cons

Lacks genuine thought leadership and mentorship opportunities for long term employee growth. Executive leadership is like a muscle car, very fast and good looking, but can't round corners. Lastly, high work expectations are not commensurate with compensation relative to other top implementation consulting practices in the industry.

I worked at Strata Decision Technology full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Lots of activity and young people trying to do their best and succeeding. It is a fantastic entry level position within the field of healthcare software.

    Cons

One of the least age-friendly companies I have ever worked for and the CEO's reasoning - it's what other high tech companies like Microsoft, Apple and Google do. Sad to say the least but probably so true.

    Advice to Management

Best prepare well as you don't want to experience looking for a job in high tech past 45

    Pros

They say small company is where you learn real skills. This is totally true here. If you are young and don't have a family or don't plan to start one any time soon, this is for you. Compensation and bonus is relatively good.

    Cons

Work hour is relativly strict (8am-6pm) and you are expected to put in extra hours whenever necessary. Turn over rate within the company is relatively high.

    Advice to Management

Hiring and firing should be done more carefully. Current employees should be more informed on reasons behind firing.

    Pros

Strata gives its employees plenty of opportunity to get experience very quickly. There is more than enough work to go around, thanks to a great reputation in the industry, and everyone gets a piece of it. A typical consultant will be leading projects in the first six months.

    Cons

The small size of the company makes office politics inescapable. If you do not see eye-to-eye with senior management, they will make sure you do. Additionally, the hours are crazy unless you take control early-on. If you act like Superman, they will always expect Superman.

    Advice to Management

Hear out every employee. Generally, they have a good point.

This post almost 5 years old. Senior management now listens to employees and actively seeks out employee feedback. Times have changed at Strata Decision-- for the better!
