    Throw it away

May 13, 2020 - Mental Health Technician in Garner, NC

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Conveniently located to Raleigh - right off the highway

    Cons

    - Terrible pay; no raises or bonuses - Incompetent staff (which wasn't always totally the staff person's fault- there's not a good training system in place for brand new people).Constant rotation of staff and brand new entry level staff because management at every level was so awful that they couldn't keep employees. Lots of scandalous sexual affairs happening between staff, as well between patients and staff (this is before the adult unit was opened). - Not enough resources with which to educate and/or entertain the patients. Crayons and coloring pages hard to come by; bouncy balls hard to come by; pencils hard to come by. - Inconsistent rules and programming for patients, which resulted in confusion and frustration for patients and a high rate of repeat hospitalizations for patients. - Nursing staff - many nurses refused to assert themselves and state their expectations to staff and patients; which resulted in inconsistencies in treatment from shift to shift and issues between nursing staff and direct care staff. - Small location, so not much opportunity to rise in the company without relocating and even if one were to relocate, from MHT to RC to Milieu, there can only be one director/coordinator per location and after that you've essentially topped out with this company.

    Overworked, Underpaid, Underappreciated

Nov 2, 2020 - Human Resources Coordinator in Garner, NC

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Gained a lot of experience outside what I expected because the facility was understaffed and the company was overambitious

    Cons

The people, the pay, the work life balance. You get no overhead support and yelled at constantly. Countless evenings and nights, easily working 80-100 hour weeks including weekends.

Jun 2, 2019 - Mental Health Technician in Garner, NC

    Pros

Entry level experience to mental health, create your own schedule when PRN, help residents become better versions of themselves

    Cons

Pay is not high enough, can be dangerous at times, often short-staffed, nurse-run facility so your say may not matter.

    Has Potential

Jun 11, 2014 - Residential Advisor in Garner, NC
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

The organization, has a well thought out plan as far as a general behavioral organization goes. The policy and procedures have the foundation for the organization to be solid and able to expand. Has the potential to be a great place to build a career with. Management is turning over a new leaf with executives coming into play which could be the necessary move to take the organization to the next level.

    Cons

The organization does not thoroughly explain the position, or what an individual may encounter once "on the hall" as a resident advisor, at times it feels that this position is more of a baby sitting position that holds no true power. The organization has a very high turnover rate, but company raves on how the promote within. Well that is half true, if your wanting to stay on the clinical side, but for the most part the company overlooks qualified employees for their administrative roles. Not to say that no one gets that opportunity, its just that they would prefer to look else where if the employee is a strong leader on the hall because of the turnover rate. Salaries aren't great, not to say that their is the chance of being hurt on the job, and communication is something that is lacking. Nurses seem to think they're better than other staff members and don't participate in the overall care for the patients.
