    Pros

Great office environment and very bright people working there. Terrific work-life balance.

    Cons

The company is bankrupt. It ran out of money and closed its doors last year. Partly because of a legal scandal that scared off some clients.

    Advice to Management

Maybe give it another try someday. It seems to be an industry where making money should be doable.

I worked at Strategic Fundraising full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Decent hourly pay, most people you worked with. Other than that, there were little spiffs, but most of them were for a dollar or two

    Cons

Broken promises, a bonus system that never came, 300% workload increase with 20% pay cut, getting yelled at by people you call constantly

    Advice to Management

Settle out of court and pay your employees like you should

I worked at Strategic Fundraising full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Back when the founder was running this company, it was a fantastic place to work. A great family atmosphere with a focus on mostly conservative political candidates and non-profits. The founder was very generous with profit sharing.

    Cons

Things went downhill fast after being acquired by a private equity group. They brought in a series of incompetent CEOs and people who had no clue about the industry. The new management decided it would be smart to play both sides of the aisle politically, which has backfired spectacularly. They also merged the company with another firm that had developed their own dialer technology. The problem is that the new firm didn't own the technology, which has resulted in a long legal battle.

    Advice to Management

It is probably too late, but I would get back to the basics of what once made the company great. Focus on conservative political and NFP candidates and bring in some people who actually have a clue about telefundraising.

    Pros

Schedule is nice. You get to pick your own.

Calling people who have been called a billion times before asking for money.

I worked at Strategic Fundraising full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Better pay than most telemarketing. Decent hours. Higher rate of pay on weekends

    Cons

Favorites get better treatment. If you feel fine with lying to people, have no ethical morals, being told by team leader to do one way then chewed by another team leader in doing it another way. This Company has changed CEO 3 times in 2 years. "Apply with CAUTION"

    Advice to Management

Your pfr's can over hear your negative gossip. Not good for morale. Being there is no moral due to lack of encouragement from Teamleaders. Keep your fundraisers informed since they are the ones fundraising & making the $.

    Pros

    - Good pay if you have no college degree
    - Can earn PTO
    - Decent benefits
    - Lots of breaks
    - Open door policy

    Cons

    - Mentally stressful
    - unfulfilled promises
    - Don't pay for high performance
    - some managers are rude and unhelpful
    - Need to tolerate being screamed at on the phones regularly

    Advice to Management

Get a bonus program and pay employees for doing better. Stop making excuses.
