I worked at Stroz Friedberg full-time

    Pros

The company was well run and involved in extremely interesting matters. Management is extremely involved due to the high-profile nature of the assignments. Overall a great place to work.

    Cons

    Not many cons to report.

I worked at Stroz Friedberg full-time

    Pros

If you're a quick learner and work great independently it is a great position. Co-workers were great and had easy to work with personalities. Also the benefits were awesome.

    Cons

Could use more room for growth in the professional development area.

    Advice to Management

If possible, try looking into creating an area for professional development for employees that do great in most areas but may lack a skill in one area or less.

    Pros

Great colleagues who make the job worthwhile.

    Cons

Management micromanages. Though hiring rates are high, there is a lot of turnover due to people being fired or leaving. The job is also unnecessarily stressful for the nature of the work.

I worked at Stroz Friedberg full-time

    Pros

Collegial work environment, good compensation/benefits package, quick time to promotion generally (depending on performance). The New York DDSR team is pretty close-knit. Intelligent colleagues

    Cons

Feels very big and clunky for a company of its size. The work can be quite repetitive, and there is not much room for professional growth, at least in the DDSR department -- even when you get promoted, you are mostly doing the same type of work as you were doing before. Seems like the company is trying to build out other capabilities especially in London, but the NY caseload is very heavily fast turn-around due diligence for compliance firms with minimal pre-investment DD or political risk work. Will be interesting to see how the firms priorities evolve in this regard now that they're being acquired by Aon. Seems that the academic backgrounds of the due diligence folks are to some degree wasted by only having them do routine due diligence work rather than more complicated investigations (which are also more lucrative)

    Advice to Management

Given where they are placed in the market, I think they're doing a very good job.

    Pros

Some very talented and hardworking staff.

    Cons

Long hours and poor salary. The total absence of communication with employees regarding key company decisions has led to low morale.

    Advice to Management

Start a dialogue with your employees and provide a platform for them to be heard.

    Pros

Warm environment, good people to work with.

    Cons

Not a lot of room for growth. Rarely any team building or professional trainings offered. Need better billing system to avoid all the manual work that's necessary.

    Advice to Management

Motivate your employees, provide the necessary tools & resources to grow in this establishment.

I have been working at Stroz Friedberg full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The extremely professional and capable staff facilitates professional development and exposure to various skill sets. Good people who do good work.

    Cons

In comparison to some of the big public accounting and law firms in the city, SF can have a small company feel that lends itself to some downsides, such as limited professional advancement.

    Advice to Management

The review process should occur quarterly rather than annually. It is hard to tell what management it thinking about your work product other than a "good job."

I have been working at Stroz Friedberg (More than a year)

    Pros

Small company, business is built around east coast offices only

    Cons

No culture to take pride of, boring, uncreative work gets passed on the west coast offices, senior management unable to retain good people. Large part of employees are kept in dark of the RIF initiatives considering the multiple acquisitions and lay off existing people in the stride of keeping business and the acquired employees. Unable to remain profitable.
