    Pros

Good stability, interesting and meaningful work.

    Cons

Corporate red-tape and mentality. This is a company first, a service secondary, nothing wrong with that, just be aware.

    Advice to Management

    No comment, I was pleased.

I have been working at Stryker full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

very socially oriented company. good perks, company seems to go out of it's way to show how much they care. excellent benefits.

    Cons

    - pay is below average, luckily the year-end bonus brings the annual salary up closer to the industry averages.
    - way too many meetings with individual initiative and decision making frowned upon. all decisions seem to go through multiple meetings and teams.
    - company seems to be more interested in it's popularity ranking than in actually developing products.
    - management seems to be more interested in being your friend than leading and managing.

    Advice to Management

sometimes an effective leader needs to not worry so much about being your friend.

    Pros

    Very collaborative work environment.
    Feels like family.
    Everyone is accepting of everyone.

    Cons

If you are not a competitive or energetic individual, this place isn't for you

I have been working at Stryker full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The company culture is great and it is very easy for your voice to be heard and ideas to be put into action. It may be a Fortune 500 company but your voice carries as if it's a start-up.

    Cons

It can be very difficult to fight for head count. Product price and sales incentives take precedence over everything.

    Advice to Management

There is room for consolidation in the vendors the company uses to create consistency. Ideally, it would be beneficial to make in-house positions to replace vendors. It could really drive down cost (website management, collateral creation, etc.).

I have been working at Stryker full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Cross-functional teams working together for a common goal. Everybody helps each other within the department and outside as well. Workload is high, so are the responsibilities but everybody walks around with a smile. Overall, loving the experience.

    Cons

None that I have found so far. It's a big company so it may be difficult sometimes to understand the complete scope of the project and feel overwhelmed. It's all about open discussion and there are people to hear and consider what you are saying.

    Pros

Free coffee, lots of social functions

    Cons

New management went to the dark side and terminated 50 people while the company is expanding, building new facilities, getting tax breaks, giving raises and bonuses and then kept all the contractors.

I worked at Stryker full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

If you like "old school" selling this is the place for you - but it wasn't for me!

    Cons

Management group definitely stuck in the "old boys" mentality. Poor communication of Management to Materials to Sales. End result is that the customer is quite often left in tough situations. Found it very unsettling to do have to potentially resort to not being truthful to customers. End result, it takes years to develop a good reputation and only a minute to destroy one. With that, I left my position. If you're a "Type A" personality that would sell your Mothers grave plot - this is the company for you.

    Advice to Management

While the upper management ranks talk a good game, it's the people in the middle management that are hurting this company from potential increases in revenues and morale. Would consider initiating some outside resources to review morale, sales conduct, management conduct, etc.
