I have been working at Subaru of Indiana Automotive full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

SIA is located in Lafayette, IN

    Cons

    Lack of Resources
    Lack of Technology
Decision Making based on budgets not on profit potential
    Pay is below industry average
No power given to working level staff

    Advice to Management

Budgets are planning tools; they are not unbendable rules that can not be broken.
A company's value comes from its employees, hire and train good employees and pay them a fair wage based on the industry.
If wages are below industry standard, then good employees will leave and work for the competition.

    Pros

Pay is right, can't beat the benefits, yearly raises. Can't complain.

    Cons

My only complaint would be communication throughout the orginization from upper management down to the group leaders. There's a change of culture depending on who you report to.

I have been working at Subaru of Indiana Automotive full-time

    Pros

Plant shut down in the summer and winter. Attendance bonus for not missing work. 5% shift differential for second and third shift. On site clinic for routine medical issues. No premiums out of your check for health insurance.

    Cons

If you have an after hours emergency and can't go to the clinic, urgent care or your regular provider, the ER copay is $500. It's waived if admitted but if you need stitches at 1am you're on the hook for $500 bucks. That's outrageous.

    Advice to Management

Make the hiring process more streamlined.

    Cons

Always cutting manning runs too lean, group leaders are constantly beat down and beat up. Group leaders aren't trusted and must constantly show proof for their work

    Advice to Management

    Value your group leaders
