I worked at Subway full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    -free drinks during work hours
-half off or free food during work
-get your money on time, don't have to worry about your check bouncing 😂

    Cons

I worked at 2 different stores, both started out okay, got consistently worse. Both the same way...
    -inconsist hours
-stay on your feet entire time talking 8+ hours (sometimes no break when you do get a break it's 15 minutes and most of the time it got interrupted to "help" customers)
-constant derogatory comments from customers ex: light mayo.. that's not enough.. that's too much... now it's sloppy.. make it over
-short staffed (I worked at a store that had 4 employees including the manager who managed 2 stores so she was rarely there. So I worked every day 5-6hours closing duty I WAS ALONE. Bc it was like shift work with 3 workers.. so you had to clean the entire store every night. Store closes at 11 and you had to leave by 12 with everything being done. If it wasn't done by 12 you had to clock out and still clean if you didn't finish cleaning bc you left "on time" you were written up for not finishing your cleaning duties. And when I say didn't finish I mean, didn't get a chance to mop the floor or clean the bathroom. When the list of cleaning is as follows: take out trash, sweep and mop, place chair on tables after they've been wiped down, wash dishes, clean bathrooms, clean windows, clean where the food is served counters, microwave clean, put food in storage containers and in fridge, count bread, make bread for morning, count the drawer, cash drops, stock drinks and chips, and more... with that being said you try to do that while serving customers and some of it can't be done til after closing time. Kinda hard on one person.
    -always drama

    Advice to Management

Schedule more people during closing hours to get the chores done ESPECIALLY if you have a drive thru store (two food counters twice the work), don't micromanage -I had a manager send ppl in secretly and complained about how we were wasteful with napkins, I gave her 5 napkins and by god I should have only gave her 2 🙄, most of the people working for subway are in high school or college remember that and give them a break and work around their schedules

I worked at Subway part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The occasional tips were a pleasant bonus, and the work was not always dreadful. It's a matter of your team more than anything.

    Cons

    Here we go:
    1) Constantly being burnt by the toaster oven and bread rack.
    2) Having your hours cut short if the store is slow.
    3) The franchisee took $10 out of my paycheck when I accidentally accepted a counterfeit $10.
    4) Once made to work 14 hours straight when the franchisee decided to keep the store open overnight to accommodate a convention in town. On that day I worked the veggie station for 8 hours straight without breaks.
    5) You don't get breaks. You have to sign away your right to breaks when you are hired.
    6) You will always smell like sandwiches.
    7) Some people will make sexist remarks at you for making a sandwich (if you are female) and most managers tell you to suck it up.
    8) When you give a customer power, some take full advantage of it. You will get people who will ask you to cut their sandwich into 16 bite-size pieces. No joke, this happened.
    9) We got robbed twice.
    10) I never got paid for their ridiculous all-day training, "Subway University"
    11) On my first day I was told I had to use a powered vegetable slicer and was told I would be fired if I didn't, even though I was a minor at the time (16) and minors are legally barred from using power equipment in the work force.

    Pros

    The work is not difficult

    Cons

No discount on food, paid minimum wage and no raise after 2.5 yrs. terrible!!!! Very sad

    Advice to Management

Better pay and meal discounts during working hours only. Better insurance.

I have been working at Subway part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Time goes by fast. Most of the work is pretty easy.

    Cons

They require you to study the formulas at home and while you are off work. Management doesn't train you fully and expects you to know everything from the start. You only get a 10% discount and their are no benefits.

    Advice to Management

Train your employees fully by just partially and give your employees some positive feedback not just negative feedback.

I worked at Subway full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Honestly, there were not any pros to working at Subway.

    Cons

There is blatant favoritism, the establishment I worked for does not give raises nor do they appreciate a good worker.

    Advice to Management

Actually do the job given to you and listen to customer's complaints.

I worked at Subway part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I really enjoyed my other employees. They where for the most part good ppl to work with.

    Cons

Never knew who was running the show on a day to day basis.

    Advice to Management

Get it together! Realize who ur best employees are and hire a manager who has been working for ur company for years instead of hiring someone who has only been there a month. Pay attention to the ones who bust their butts to make ur company better bc those are the ones who deserve hours and opportunities.
