    Pros

Depends on manager, but food provided and mine had a set schedule. If you are incapable of making a sandwich, I suggest you don't work here. The hours were ok but I can assume not every location has set schedules. Once you get the composure of the different items on the menu, you could make them in your sleep and keep up with high volume traffic during peak hours.

    Cons

Crap pay just as many jobs in our country. I found no way to advance in the career. The amount of ingredients per sandwich is not sufficient. Customers also complain a lot.

    Advice to Management

Increase wages but I doubt that will happen. There are so many Subways in the U.S. spread the wealth, pay more, and give room for advancement.

    Pros

If you need to some cash and want to serve people sandwiches . Become a "Sandwich Artist", Deal with people that are as big as Jared (whom had outside influences other then the sandwiches) have these people get a sandwich with X amount of calories then add mayo and other sauces to bring up some more Calories. Then to have them drink a soda pop. Wow these people are eating healthy.

    Cons

Customers at certain locations quite frankly can make your shift much more stressful as well as longer than it really should be. Keep in mind that the subway smell stays on you like when a relative is cooking fish.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the usage people that allow you to take advantage of them.

    Pros

Mostly easy work with sporadic long lines and busy nights. A fairly good job for a teenager (like myself) because of little necessary training. If you are a people person, its fairly easy to be recognized for good work. Even though its the official job title, no one ever calls you a sandwich artist.

    Cons

I can't imagine there is much room to move up in the lower parts of the corporation. Pay isn't that good but acceptable for the amount of work you do.

    Advice to Management

Make a store directory accessible to employees. I had people call numerous times asking about addresses and phone numbers for other local Subway's and could give them nothing.

    Pros

The managers of my store were very friendly and were extremely flexible with hours. Believe it or not, people really love their sandwiches, and its really neat to help them get exactly what they want. A good sandwich can really make ones day.

    Cons

Salary was extremely low, minimum wage, and it took a lot of time and work for a raise. Slicing onions can also get pretty old.

    Advice to Management

Through their news publication, I generally felt well informed on the things happening within the company. It was good to see what was going on outside our store.

    Pros

Everyone was enoyable that I worked with
    The raises were distributed fairly
They worked around my class schedule very well

    Cons

    Pay was not very good
    NO Benefits
There wasn't much in the way of incentives
For my position, there was almost ZERO room for advancement

    Advice to Management

Keep up the good work! I think that Subway is a great company and I would recommend working there to anyone needing a part time job

    Pros

    Easy work
Better than McDonalds or other fast food
    Short shifts

This particular Subway is one of the best places to work while attending school in Clarion. The owner is extremely lenient on days you want off.

    Cons

Obviously making subs for a living isn't ideal. After a while customers easily get on your nerves. Employees walk all over owner, and owner does not punish/fire people for things that would not stand anywhere else.

    Advice to Management

Stop letting kids push you around and fire people who obviously need to be.

    Pros

    great pay for managers
    flexible hours
great for college or high school students
    free food
managers are willing to work with you regarding school or family emergences and even if you have a second job.

    Cons

this job is surrounded by drama and people who don't like eachother
subway can get very busy at times, it can be very tiring and stress ful
shift leaders and even non shift leaders sometimes think they have
more power then what they really do.
The gm likes to move people around to different stores quite ofen this can be very annoying
if you are use to one store

    Advice to Management

move around employee less, let them be at the store that makes them happy. Shift leaders and crew members need to have more of a understand of where they stand in there store; this way less people butt heads. More employees need to understand once you walk in the door the drama stays outside.

    Pros

In order to get customer service experience. You are able to get preparation experience, and also experience putting all the inventory on the front ilne.

    Cons

Most employees are high school students, or employees have only motivation to stay withing Subway. People are just there to have a job. If you are looking for a more professional setting, look elsewhere.

    Advice to Management

Subway managers need to handle issues in a more professional manner. Possibly more training for them with difficult employees. Managers need to be more open with their employees instead of just avoiding the underlying issues at hand.

    Pros

Free food, laid back atmosphere during non-rush times.

    Cons

Dealing with customers can be a pain at times. Also cleaning bathrooms are part of the duties. So not always the most fun duties.

    Advice to Management

Things are going well so far. I like the way you are running the company and utilizing marketing of 5 dollar foot longs and partnership with the NFL is great too.
