I have been working at Subway full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

For me, this job really gave me excellent work ethic. It also happened to be my first job, and I've gotten a lot of raises since starting.
-You also get a free meal every 4-5 hours you work, with a 6" sub, chips, and cookie. You can also have a drink whenever you like.
-For my particular subway, I suppose another pro would be that I am given full time hours without fail.
    -Lots of customer interaction
    -Good starter job
-A very easy job that is pretty relaxing outside of 'rushes' at lunch and dinner.
-Tips are included and sometimes Christmas bonuses are rewarded.
-If you are a good worker and actually care about your job, it is pretty easy to advance up to managerial positions

    Cons

-Unreliability of coworkers. Turnover can be rather high as most that work here are students, which is understandable.

-On that same note, the unreliability of workers either not showing up or quitting unexpectedly can lead to high stress days.

-You will be standing for long periods of time, and if your subway location is busy, be prepared to sweat as you rush around!

-Pay is not excellent. Pay can vary depending on location and how many years of Subway experience you may have. I started at $7.50 originally but got raised to $9.50 within a year, before getting promoted to Assistant Manager with a salary of $11/hr. Management should be paid more, however. I know that now, new people are hired in the $8.50-9.00 range, but this can vary depending on location as well!

In summary, this is a good job for high school students who just want some extra pocket change and want a good job to build up their resume and develop some responsibility and work ethic.

    Advice to Management

Make sure Subway University is REQUIRED for all new employees. Better care should be taken in training. Often stores are too busy for managers to dedicate the proper time and care to train new people. I personally have created an in-depth manual and step-by-step guide for all my employees, but I know other stores are lacking in their training.

    I worked at Subway part-time

    Pros

Easy, consistent, fast-paced. Worked at five different locations in seven years and it was consistent and the same throughout the experience.

    Cons

Poor management and very few people within the stores I worked in knew who the owners of their subways were. There was consistently a lack of owner employee relationships.

    Advice to Management

Focus less on the Subway marketing and more on what the customers are interested in.
