I have been working at Subway part-time

    Pros

Yeah I mean I get free cookies and sandwiches sometimes, so that's pretty legit.

    Cons

People do heroin in the bathroom, and then I have to clean it up.

    Advice to Management

Do better, and give me rubber gloves so I can clean up heroin safely.

I worked at Subway part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Flexibility depending on your manager, very mundane and straight forward so you don’t need much brain effort if you’re also in difficult college classes.

    Cons

Some bosses do not do the best with management and equal opportunities for employees of different races, genders, ethnicities etc.

    Advice to Management

When you find a good employee treat them right instead of over working them and under paying them.

    I worked at Subway part-time

    Pros

My manager was very friendly and good with the employees, and overall the workplace culture was wonderful. We had a small staff and we worked very hard---my role at Subway taught me how to handle every aspect of the store. With that experience, I learned a lot about management and gained valuable leadership experience.

    Cons

We were at times very understaffed, and my closing shift often went over the scheduled times. We were supposed to be done at 10:30, but closing would usually take until 11, 11:30, or even 12, no matter how hard we worked. Management would push us to close sooner and sooner, and even cut the closing shift down to one employee, despite the fact that the evening/nighttime traffic and the vast number of our responsibilities made that impossible. Staying on the clock too late got my manager in trouble (and me as well), so I sometimes was forced to clock out early and work for an hour or two without pay.
The longest shift I ever worked was 12 hours straight with only one meal break. This was because someone called out sick and we were too understaffed to find somebody to fill in. I was 17 at the time and had only been working there for one month.

    Advice to Management

I felt as though our store was working with less than what we needed. Our equipment was old and falling apart, our backroom was filthy, and sometimes we were severely understaffed. Although I enjoyed working at Subway, there were times when I was forced by circumstance to push myself beyond the point that I should have, just because I cared about my manager's wellbeing and keeping the store clean and operational.
