    I worked at SuccessFactors full-time

    Pros

Benefits/ Compensation is in line with other tech companies

Some opportunities if you can get a position within SAP

    Cons

No long-term goals or focus, Company is constantly shifting direction and changing focus almost on a monthly basis it seems with no strategic goals in place. Success factors seems on able to adapt to the changing market where HR tools and performance management is becoming less valuable and obsolete. Products are typically not well tested and don't seem to integrate well with each other, making for a stressful and chaotic environment, lack of support from key leaders and a lot of finger-pointing. No work life balance

     Excessive hours required

     Weekend work often required

     Little recognition from managers

     Managers are poorly trained

    Advice to Management

Pick a strategy, invest in a long-term direction for the product and the company. Higher top talent for your leadership team and retain them. We constantly hear about being transparent and having open communication but it seems to me it is more a fear-based culture than anything else, very little true collaboration

    Pros

Good product, many very smart people, good colleagues, good interaction, and recognition for a job well done. Focus is on getting things shipped.

    Cons

Focus is on things shipped, sometimes to the detriment of innovation or longer-term strategic objectives. Following the shiny objects sometimes.

    Advice to Management

Don't alter course too often, let things get finished. Introduce true focus.

    I worked at SuccessFactors full-time

    Pros

Start-up with a wonderful family culture and the ability to build something you can be proud of--a great SaaS Talent Management Software offering.

    Cons

Some changes after the SAP acquisition. Learning to navigate a larger organization with a slightly different culture takes some getting used to.

    Advice to Management

Value those with knowledge who helped build this company. They know best where opportunities to improve lie and how to be most successful dealing with prospects, customers and internal employees.
