I have been working at Sullivan Branding full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Agency in the past couple of years has concentrated heavily on bringing in and retaining talented people who are also great team players. It's a joy to come in and see everyone every day. The work is super high quality, the clients are name brands and the way people are treated here is truly top notch.

    Cons

Compared to the churning, confused direction so many agencies )large and small) seem to be going in these days, not many cons here. The place has a clear direction and it's showing up in the work, the new business wins and the fact that people really work well together.

    Advice to Management

    Keep it rolling

I have been working at Sullivan Branding full-time for less than a year

    Pros

If you’re talented and you’re far enough in the interview process, they’ll recruit you with gusto. They’ll offer you whatever title you want. They’ll offer a really good salary. If they hire you. And if they do, well, good luck. They did all that to hire me and I didn't even last a full year.

    Cons

The place has lost TONS of people. Some were let go, but most of the smart people are leaving as fast as they can, especially the veterans. And the agency almost never actually hires anyone, just posts jobs and interviews people then ghosting them. Management will tell you they’re “getting rid of dead weight” and how they’re “nimble.” LOL. That just means they can’t keep anyone in the building. But it’s not just that...

    Advice to Management

What you're doing clearly isn't working. Losing most of your staff and chasing away talent isn't something that (yet another) rebrand will fix. You can't do boutique creative at lowest bidder prices. Look around at what used to be Memphis' second largest agency and ask yourself what brought you to this point. It's not bad luck. It's your mistakes. And for your own dignity, stop posting fake, sunny reviews on here - it's...

I worked at Sullivan Branding full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The employees themselves are very talented and you'll get to work along side some seasoned creative professionals.

    Cons

Really phony office culture that pretends to be 'cool' and 'casual' but is actually just stilted and awkward. Incredibly shaky job security They don't have an interest in building people up that much, it's very apparent they don't care about their employees beyond keeping up appearances. Office events that clearly nobody wants to be engaged in, forced fun. Really micromanaged creative department, hardly any creative...

    Advice to Management

Stop treating your employees like they're lesser than. Stop pretending like cataloging project time into a program totally isn't a means to track how valuable your employee is. Be honest and genuine with your employees and stop trying to force some Cool Kid culture on them.

I have been working at Sullivan Branding

    Pros

Every day is a new challenge. Will you get canned while you're on vacation or a month from maternity leave? Who knows! Gotta love a place that keeps you on your toes. If you're incompetent or useless, you have nothing to worry about—for some reason, you're bulletproof.

    Cons

No interest in results beyond award show worthiness. No investment in professional development. No performance incentives. No current technology. No accountability. No empathy. No future.

    Advice to Management

Grow a spine and take back your business before you ruin more people's lives.

I have been working at Sullivan Branding full-time for less than a year

    Pros

As a longtime fan of terrible workplace culture , Sullivan Branding seemed like the perfect place to settle in and do some solidly mediocre work under the watchful of eye of Creative Leadership that specializes in microaggression, gaslighting, and moving the goalposts. It's leadership in the classic sense: vindictiveness, innappropriate workplace conduct, and my personal favorite: bullying. This creates the perfect...

    Cons

None. As a big fan of post-apocalytic film, this place is like working in Thunderdome. Two men enter, twelve men leave.....

I have been working at Sullivan Branding full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Absolutely not one positive thing to say about this place.

    Cons

What would you think of a company that fired people while on vacation, via text or over the phone? In what regard would you hold a company that fired a woman who is 8 months pregnant? Probably not very high, right? These people don't care about the well-being or livelihoods of their employees. They're all about appearances, nothing more. I wouldn't be surprised if this place lasted another 2 years. I just hope the rest...

I have been working at Sullivan Branding for more than a year

    Pros

The office and my co-workers are great, everyone seems to get along on the surface and are happy to help each other get work done and out the door.

    Cons

There's an obvious clique in every office, but this office seems like it's made up entirely of different social cliques. Depending on your supervisor and who they personally like, you may or may not "work out" on your team. It's unfortunate because I don't feel like my work is judged on a level playing field because I'm too busy to socialize in the first place.

I have been working at Sullivan Branding full-time

    Pros

Here's what's great about Sullivan. If you are motivated and passionate about your work, you can get promoted way before you could at other Memphis agendies. Sure it can be a stressful, deadline driven industry, but the people are great to work with, mgmt is visible and the company is growing.

    Cons

Sometimes it feels like there is not enough structure, but you just have to weigh that against other agencies and decide what you prefer

    Advice to Management

a little more structure (reviews, process) will go a long way
