I have been working at Sumitomo Corporation of America full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, 7 hour workday (non managers). 13 paid holidays. Great location (across from the mall, shops, and restaurants. Covered free parking. Senior Management conscious of health and safety for employees. Ex: If bad weather, office will close to protect employee's well being.

    Cons

Rotating Japanese staff (4 year assignments) cause cultural difficulties with permanent American staff. Example: non manager gets a new boss every 4 years and sometimes find it difficult to adapt to Japanese expectations. Frequent organizational retstructuring. Cubicle style, little opportunity for advancement. Lots of e-learning courses but no formal job training. Top heavy organization (more managers than non managers). Managers frequently work 12 hour days and sometimes weekends.
