    Pros

There are no pros to working for this company.

    Cons

Hiring is based potential workload. When the company achieves its short term goals (the only kind they have), they eliminate positions. This organization is also top heavy from a salary perspective, while salaries for their workforce are extremely low.

    Advice to Management

Replace the CEO. He lacks the vision as well as the expertise to take this company forward.

I worked at Summer Infant full-time

    Pros

Fellow colleagues are the only pros, the real "worker bees." They are smart, fun and caring.

    Cons

Executive team doesn't seem to care about the real people making this business run. It's the WORST place I've ever worked and it's a BABY product company. Middle managers are basically narcissists, micro-managers and don't give credit to the TEAM. They take all credit to themselves. Micro-management to the worst level. I can't believe these leaders are making BABY products! Do not go work here.

    Advice to Management

Wake up. You have leaders being completely rude and inappropriate to their staff. Look beyond those leaders who have been there because they were part of the "boys club."

I worked at Summer Infant (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great product development and innovation
Good VP's (at the business unit level)
Was positive atmosphere from 2013-beginning of 2014

    Cons

Poor board of directors decision to replace CEO in Jan 2014. They brought in a new executives who were terrible for the company. These new "leaders" had no clue how to run a successful company and as of end of May 2015 they are being sued by Summer. Who is at fault? The BOD for even bringing them in. The culture changed when they brought them in. Glad they are now gone. No international strategy whatsoever. Lost a lot of business in key markets because they (these new people) had no clue. Still today...SI is minimized internationally and unfortunately the brand is stagnant....especially in key markets like China, Asia in general and Mexico as well as Latin America. They are no where to be seen in Africa and minimal in Europe. Bad decision on the board's part in 2014.

    Advice to Management

Heed the knowledge and skills of people who have the knowledge and who were/are making definable (like financially definable) contributions to the company. Don't get caught up in changing key roles every other year. Allow continuity to rule.

I worked at Summer Infant full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The best part of working at Summer Infant, is the people around you. I made close friends while working there. They have a gym and showers onsite, which is a plus. Exposure to many different fields, and learned a ton!

    Cons

Terrible pay. No room to move up or be promoted. They hire from the outside rather than promoting from within.

I worked at Summer Infant full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

They still market some of the best juvenile products in the industry that parents look for at all retailers

    Cons

They brought on new mgmt approx 2 years ago and had no direction or proper knowledge in the juvenile industry. They replaced key people that were good. The new Sr. Mgmt were let go last year and in litigation based on stealing product designs
