    Pros

This was the best job I ever had. The management was fair and generous and provided us with a very positive working environment.

    Cons

The market the company was involved with was too small to generate high growth so opportunities for advancement were limited.

I worked at Summit Consulting Partners full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

This company is what brought me to SLC, and for that I am thankful. The people on my team were great, and it really did have a great work/life balance. As in I got to apply for and interview for other jobs before I went to work here!

    Cons

It really was door to door sales. It was late nights and walking around dimly lighted streets in hopes of making sales. If you didn't make any, you barely got paid.

  3. "Door to door sales"

    Negative Outlook

    Pros

I do not have anything positive to say; the job is door to door sales and they do not disclose that at all during the interview

    Cons

Do not work here; it is door to door sales. They say consulting but it's a lie; low commissions sales. The pay is poor, you have to use your own car, own gas, etc for everything. All positive reviews here are fake: company is a scam. It is also a pyramid scheme with the management training program where you have to keep recruiting people to make more money.

    Advice to Management

Stop lying to candidates and call job what it is; door to door sales

I worked at Summit Consulting Partners full-time

    Pros

I learned what to look for when being interviewed by a company to make sure I am not scammed again.

    Cons

This is a door to door sales job but they don't call it that because you have a "lead sheet". They quickly skim over pay and make it sound like you receive benefits but you don't. I was promised 3 "bonuses" which I never received. The pay is purely commission unless you sell a certain amount, but if you don't sell anything, you don't get paid even if you work a full day, in the cold, using your own gas to get ALL over the valley. They say the schedule is noon to 8 but they have you come in around 10 each morning for "meetings" and you stay until almost 9 each night. Also, they say Saturday's are optional but you get the hint real quick that they are not and you are pressured into being there. I did see one promotion while I was there but this person was with the company for years. I just felt very mislead and taken advantage of. No wonder they are always hiring.

    Advice to Management

Be up front about what the job entails. Your turn over within the first 3 days wouldn't be so high.

I have been working at Summit Consulting Partners (More than a year)

    Pros

    - promotions happen often - I have seen five friends of mine become C.E.Os of their own companies via this opportunity. Most people get promoted to a team leadership position in less than 2 weeks
    - personal growth - skills taught at SCP are invaluable for individuals looking to mold themselves into professionals, SCP taught me communication skills, how to provide customers with consultative solutions, it taught me how to grow and form client relationships with high integrity, how to be solution oriented, how to coach others, how to set goals effectively, and entrepreneurship via learning how to run a business from the ground up. All of these skills are essential for learning how to become a successful manager and leader in any field
    - best culture/work environment I have been part of - weekly team building events, everyone is selfless and wants to see their teammates succeed, involvement with philanthropic causes such as Operation Smile and Boys/Girls Club
    - travel and network opportunities in Denver, Bahamas, Scottsdale, and Boston
    - friendly competition - variety of bonuses have been offered, such as sporting tickets, new suits, Nike IDs, Beats headphones and a Ruth Chris steakhouse dinner

    Cons

    - requires hard work, there are no overnight success stories, this opportunity truly rewards those with a solid work ethic, good people skills and stable attitude. All of these skills are taught and needed to become successful in any line of work. SCP has a very clearly defined Career Path and System. Follow these steps, work hard and do things with honesty and integrity. If you do, success is a byproduct
    - no seniority - you dictate your promotion and growth within the company. Mentors and coaches are there to help. Again, the choice is on you to work hard
    - business to Consumer Sales - NOT DOOR TO DOOR, anyone who has done D2D knows these are very different. Fortune 150 companies provide SCP with leads to go to. D2D is randomized and more aggressive. At SCP, they take the role of consultants to truly see if customers can be helped, not sold

    Advice to Management

    - keep doing what you are doing
    - advice to new employees. Understand that you do not have to be good at sales to succeed. Instead, follow the system, learn something new everyday, be a team player - this truly is a people help people business, be a consultant and master the basics which are work ethic, attitude and people skills. Lastly, enjoy the journey and be willing to get out of your comfort zone. Do all these and success will come

    Pros

none. but the website says i have to write 5 words.. there we go.

    Cons

They are shady to say the least. it is a 3 step interview process which is a complete waste of time. first interview took 10 minutes and asked the most basic bland question. 2nd interview is more of the same cliche questions and you're interviewed by people in their early to mid 20's that aren't qualified to make hiring decisions. the third interview is where they MIGHT explain what you'll actually be doing. This company has mastered the art of sounding legit and professional when all they are is door-to-door sales for centurylink. They will use classic business lingo to sound legit but don't fall for it (direct marketing, face-to-face sales, fortune 500 companies, blah blah blah). I had to ask very specific questions about what the duties are and they would beat around the bush before admitting its selling door to door. You'll be promised al of these advancement opportunities but when they already have 50 people in your position and constantly hiring, who in the world are all of these people supposed to advance? Don't waste your gas, time, or energy with this guys. Find a real business to work for.

    Advice to Management

Stop being shady in your job opening ads and interviews. Just explain what the actual job is. Selling Centurylink internet by knocking on doors. Plain and simple.

    Pros

Pros of this company I know that this company is legit and though I only got to the phone interview because of me being in another state, I would be willing to move up to Salt Lake to get to work for this company and make a difference.

    Cons

Wish the company was in other states however one day when the company gets even more success they will get to become world wide.

    Positive Outlook

I have been working at Summit Consulting Partners full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I have read the reviews on the site and felt the need to add a review about the company. They are very upfront throughout the entire interview process about the hours and the position. They have taken on a business to consumer campaign, which should not be confused with door to door sales. Anyone who has done sales before understands this is very different. They also give full training and are incredibly systematic with what they do.
Their sales approach is more consulting than it is hard sales. This is was differentiates them from other companies. They stress consulting practices with customers which is why their results are not only high in quantity but also quality.
I feel very strongly that this company has a bright future and is worth being a part of.
Everyone that comes in here leaves having learned something and building a network of supportive and ambitious individuals.

    Cons

It seems like the company gets confused with other direct sales or marketing companies. People who turn away not having heard the career path here are losing out on an opportunity.

    Advice to Management

Thank you for the training program and changing my mentality on sales and consulting.
