I worked at Sun Life full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Competitive starting salaries and good bonus if company does well.
Good benefits. 401k and generous vacation package to start.
Option to work from home (dependent on Manager)
Discounts on phone, car insurance and other places. Fitness reimbursement or Fitness Center on site depending on where you work.
    Good people to work with.

    Cons

More work than people. Upper management unwilling to listen and apply changes even though suggestions made by multiple people. Technology is a little behind the times.
HR not there for the employee. Have to write your own reviews which does not make sense. Small increases if you are considered in the Exceeds category.
Many people do "free" overtime just to keep up with their production and HR is aware but looks away.
    Nowhere to advance to.
    Inadequate training.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees that do the work. They have great ideas. Sometimes it's better to concede and rethink old ways instead of losing good people who work really hard and are loyal to the bottom line.

    Pros

Strong, financially sound company with competitive pay and bonus potential. Quality products. Good benefits. Pleasant aesthetics. Parking pass. Urban location.

    Cons

Toxic work environment, manager has favorites. Lack of flexibility. Manager does not follow national job description posted. Micromanaged, scrutinized. Manager failed to give me complete details and tell me that I was hired over another woman in the office for this position which caused painful and abusive office drama.

    Advice to Management

Quality performance of select individuals is no excuse to tolerate abuse of fellow employees. Awful environment, manager plays favorites. Stick to the job description.
