I worked at Sun Pharma full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

All I can say the salary and benefits were pretty good.

    Cons

The down fall of this company is the culture, it is an India company, and they speak to you 90 percent of the time in Hindu. If you do not know Hindu it is hard for you to pick up a lot of skills that you can use, also they make you feel like an outsider speaking in their language. You can report it, but when management does not follow the rules, then nothing will ever change. Technology is another down fall, everything is manual, a simple task takes a whole day when it should only take a few hours. And if you are a woman, advancement is rare as women are not treated as a man in the company. Also, the workload is not equal in the department, it seems the more you work the more work you get. It does not pay to be a great worker in this case.

    Advice to Management

Americans speak in English so if most of your employees speak English you should speak in English, policies and warnings should be followed up. Overworking employees is not healthy and work should be given out equally, as management should see this. All women should be treated equally for their work.

    Pros

Nothing. It takes a lot out of you to deal with the sheer stupidity and ignorance of their management. Tests your abilities to put up with toughest working conditions.

    Cons

This is the company that extends its mid year review deadlines from October to January, 3 times, Globally.

    Advice to Management

    Open your eyes

    Pros

None. Salaries low and benefits are lousy.

    Cons

Toxic and unprofessional. Executive leadership are bullies & refuses to take accountability for high turnover within US locations. HR is weak and doesn't take action. Any decent perks are being stripped away such as bonuses. Healthcare plans more expensive and covers less than industry standards. Morale is low and top notch talent are leaving due to leadership & company's lack of direction.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of your executive team In US locations & leverage Executive team in Taro

I have been working at Sun Pharma full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Expanding due to acquiring failing or companies that have filled for bankruptcy, like good venture capitalists do in gaining better contracts and assets.

    Cons

Synergies due to acquiring other companies. Thus making many positions expendable. Due to low pay rate offered, the company does not get the best of talent. Many working there do not ask questions or seek help from others, thus many issues and problems slip through and do not get resolved. The failure to address problems have plagued the company for years. Many of the employees are afraid that asking for help is a sign that they are not qualified to do the work in their position.

    Advice to Management

Raise entry level pay, and look for employees that are not content to do just one thing at their job. Too many issues are done as a knee-jerk reaction after the fact, and not proactively addressed. Working lean would be good, but working as if anorexic is not healthy for the company.
