The customers can be a huge pain. It doesn't have the "local ski shop" feeling.

I have been working at Sun & Ski full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Negatives outweigh the pros. Potentially getting rid of issue management and department heads. Training is needed all over the board.

    Cons

Complaints are pushed aside due to longevity with the company. Why hide something so serious? Why keep that company culture?

    Advice to Management

Sexual harassment isn't a joke. It's extremely hard to deal with. Take it seriously.

I worked at Sun & Ski full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Relaxed dress code, which was really great. You can basically wear whatever you want to work in the corporate office.

The HR department holds events every so often, which were really fun

    Cons

Some people have worked there a really long time, so they were used to doing things their way. They were not open to new ideas or improvements. Some people were not as friendly as others, such as in any corporate position, but at times it made it very hard to work with certain people. They could also do better with their pay rates. Their seasons are basically based off the weather, but it's still important to try to pay their employees what they're worth.

    Advice to Management

Take problems more seriously, by actually listening to your employees. Be open to change and new ideas. Consider pay rates for some departments as well. Re evaluate some departments for improvements and employees as well.

    Pros

Decent work environment people were nice. Not a hard job at all if you even kind of know what you're talking about

    Cons

Boring during summer when no-one is there
Management isn't particularly helpful and much more worried about numbers than the people who work for them

    Pros

The Oklahoma City team was very tight knit and goal oriented. They worked hard and knew how to have a good time and enjoy work as well. Everyone was there because they wanted to be.

    Cons

Corporate sometimes overlooked our ideas to improve the sales in our store. We sometimes felt like we had little power.

    Advice to Management

Oklahoma City management was great. They went out of their way to help employees and did a great job managing the store.
