I worked at SunEdison full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

When we were doing well, everyone was treated well. We had "best in class" everything. We could go to any conference and any training.

    Cons

When we were doing poorly, only a few were blamed, and not the blameworthy ones. The innocent were laid off. The sales people and executives got bonuses.

    Advice to Management

Practice what you preach, and make sure those below you follow suit.

    Advice to Management

Too late for advice, the market has spoken and chapter 7 is the result. Too bad, if managed better this could have been good for the industyr

Bad management taking wrong decisions on strategy and execution trying to buy more than what was manageable and leading to bk

    Advice to Management

You've taken many months to craft a reorg plan and very little to make changes to improve

I have been working at SunEdison full-time

    Pros

The Good is I can't complain about my annual salary. We are all paid very well for what we do, which is how things got so bad.

    Cons

The Bad is that the company has filed Chapter 11 Bankruptcy.

    Advice to Management

Stop being so UGLY! Tell us the truth...will this company emerge or is this a controlled wind down? We are all adults...we can handle the truth!

    Pros

    Pace, constant changes, new strategy/requests

    Cons

Pace - constant changes of direction/requests. Insiders get the attention, etc. Need people who understand business to run the business/operations, in addition to a technical background.

    Advice to Management

Recruit/hire people who are good leaders and understand business as a whole.

I have been working at SunEdison full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very bright people with many driven to launching clean energy assets.
Some areas of the company are very flat and employees can propose and implement changes.
Chance to be exposed to many aspects of business and learn very quickly.

    Cons

Zero change on systems, processes at the upper levels despite constant cries for it.
Many unqualified people pretending at the top.
Incredibly intense pressure to grow without logical and well thought out business strategies.

Worst part was the consistent lying from management. One of the core "culture" points was to "Own it". Once things went downhill, the message from the top was that "the MLP markets are 'dislocated' and it is causing our issues"....way to own up to the entire mess. Why are you still employed? Board has no teeth.

    Advice to Management

Get some good lawyers, you are personally named in lawsuits and will be in court for many years....

    Cons

    Advice to Management

listen to the ones that have done it and did well and stop the RESET button every year...

    Pros

Great middle level culture, collaborative, intelligent, impact driven. Lots of opportunity.

    Cons

At the top corporate culture doesn't honor commitments to vendors (like pay), or contracts. There is too much change and a sense that because "they are doing something big" other things can be deprioritized

    Advice to Management

Get your ethics in order. All of them! It is important for an impact company.
