I have been working at SunGard full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

This is a great place to really own your own territory. All of the tools and resources are provided for your success. As long as you can allocate these resources and pull in Engineers and other AE's when needed, you will be successful.

Work/Life balance is excellent. As long as you give it 100%, you can leave by 5 PM every day.

    Cons

    There are about 3,000 products.
Very hard to use certain internal systems.
If you are not technical, you MUST understand business drivers or you will sink fast.

    Advice to Management

Spend more one on one time with new hires.

    Disapproves of CEO

    Pros

+smart and energetic people (sales, consultants, sales support)
    +manage own schedule
+consistent technology updates driven by user input

    Cons

-mid managers are more ego than talent
-mid managers do not typically have sales background, so they are clueless
-thinking outside of box not encouraged

    Advice to Management

Listen to the people out in the field talking to the users and hearing the +/- about the software, customer support and lack of roadmap.

    No opinion of CEO

    Pros

Good people until you reach management levels.

    Cons

Bully mentality with some of the mid level management.

    Advice to Management

The unit presidents operate and motivate with fear rather than leadership.
