I worked at SunGard (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Has a diverse set of software systems using varying technologies.

    Cons

Management is out of touch with projects, the systems developed and sold, and staff. Some of the prior Management (3 - 5 years ago) had extensive knowledge of the systems, client base and staff (which was even better 10 - 15 years ago when even the TOP management had that history)

    Advice to Management

Quit letting go of highly experienced employees!! It's been ridiculous how many star employees have been laid off or fired, by management that nit-picks on minor 'issues' with NO regard of the skill set and experience of an employee (especially in the Professional Services area). Another indication of their ineptitude is the high number of quality employees who have QUIT because of the poor management that's been in place for the past couple of years.

This used to be a GREAT company to work for, especially for those of us who began working there 20+ years ago (which WERE a very high number of employees)

I worked at SunGard (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Paycheck came every two weeks.

    Cons

SunGard manages by spreadsheet. Every year i worked there they would lay off employees in December so they could make EBITA numbers and so upper management could receive their bonuses. People are in fear for their jobs every day and sooner or later your number is up.

    Advice to Management

Take your stop options and go elsewhere.
