I have been working at SunTrust full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Non-executive teammates are fantastic. Get to talk to people all day - relationships are built to get things done. Good work / life balance with two days off for service and finances.

Very easy work but lack of work ethic - Is that a pro or a con?

A few middle managers that care and have a sense of humor (but are going nowhere) that make it pleasant for me.

    Cons

Most insular company I have ever seen - noone contributes; no one is rewarded- EXCEPT the top few. They promote themselves; then have set aside many days to talk about all the workers who won't be getting any money or promotions..

Awful work ethic - I've never seen contracted workers leave before 5 PM en masse! Making $250K a year!!! 4 :15 it's almost empty - 5:15 you will not see anyone there.

    Advice to Management

    Why bother? They won't listen!

I have been working at SunTrust full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

If you are looking for work life balance Suntrust is the company for you. Nice and Friendly staff. Always opportunities to get promoted. Suntrust really cares about their employees.

    Cons

The sales goals can be too high depending on which location you work at. because foot traffic can be extremely low at some branches. Outdated software when it comes to outbound reaching.

    Advice to Management

If someone wants to go into management they should start from the bottom and work their way up so they can learn the ends and out of the business and running a branch. Suntrust should consider an management training program.

Teammates who have been with the team for multiple years are committed to the success of the program.

    Cons

New management is extremely green and learning on the job.

    Advice to Management

Senior management should have a clear game plan before making changes rather than figuring things out on the fly.

I have been working at SunTrust full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

SunTrust truly cares about their employees, unlike some other companies I have worked for. My management has always done everything in their power to help me succeed and to build the skills I need to progress in my career. I feel like the pay is pretty fair. My favorite thing about working for SunTrust though, is that they are diversity friendly and will not tolerate intolerance (no pun intended).

    Cons

If you have a client-facing position, the typical stresses from working with the public are going to apply.

I worked at SunTrust full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The salary was good, as was the immediate team I worked with.

    Cons

After the first of the year, they refused to cover prenatal coverage for my pregnant wife. We knew she was pregnant at insurance signups, so I made certain to specify a policy that included prenatal care, but they reneged on it after the first of the year, even sending me a copy of the policy that CLEARLY stated it was covered.

    Advice to Management

Your word is your bond. Stick to it.
