I have been working at SunTrust full-time

    Pros

Good employee benefits, not often easy to find in today's world. Competitive salaries. Growth, if you can stick it out.

    Cons

Honestly, there are so many. SunTrust could be a leader in the industry but they will never be unless they make serious changes.
Staffing. Turnover is horrible. There is a reason why people don't stay. Aside from that, most branches barely have enough staff to support traffic.
It is unfair across all he board. While some don't have to work saturdays, others are forced to work 6 days a week because they don't have coverage.
The stress for achieving goals is mounting. For the life of me I cannot comprehend how management comes up with the insane goal numbers they do.
One banker will be required to get "7000 points" in a month, while a banker 2 miles away has a goal of "2000 points".
Additionally, it is impossible to make goals when their own departments don't follow through. Your goals can often depend on another's follow through. Mortgage is awful, yet your expected to submit referrals, but you don't get credit unless they book. It's up to mortgage, and they are not keeping up with the demand.
Their internal processes and systems are archaic. The programs are among the worst I've seen and make for a tedious and drawn out customer experience.
The procedures to handle simple requests like fraud claims are ridiculous. I was also disheartened that SunTrust outsources some of the call centers and fraud. Often there is a language barrier and a company like SunTrust should absolutely be building the economy here at home by putting all call centers in the U.S.
This is a customer complaint many times over.

    Advice to Management

Does management really listen to advice? If so, please address some serious opportunities.
Get on top of technology; you're not competing with what's out there. I don't care how great you push service, if you don't start offering greater technology services to customers and employees you're going to lose both.
Staff your branches. Make it a priority. Customers complain daily about lack of staffing as do employees. Again, change it or lose both.
Finally, stop, seriously stop with sales pressure. Make goals to drive employees, but at least make them reasonable. You're going to see another Wells Fargo catastrophe except it's going to have SunTrust on it.
Time and time again these tactics are the cause of so much distress and failures of a workplace.
Make it better, make it great. Please.

I have been working at SunTrust full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Benefits, vacation, 401k, day of purpose. On up movement, volunteering opportunities, Routines for branch workday. Great colors and inspiring leaders. Upper management involved on a personal level with transparency and visits of branches: inclusive. tenureship of most is 10 years plus.

    Cons

Sub par computer systems, horrible online banking set up, helpline doesn't speak english. Loans are too prudent, business accounts solely for the established consumer.

    Advice to Management

Management is actually good. The issues are out of their control. Whoever makes the budgets needs some advice: make realistic choices and circle best interest of client not your bottom line. If the client is happy bottom line is budget wont be exceeded.
