I have been working at Suncoast Center full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

-Benefits are good -my manager is great. She advocates for me and has an open door policy - training opportunities - free qualified supervision (with a contract) - safety has increased - opportunity to advance, if you want

    Cons

-They are picky of who they hire. So they might be down a therapist weeks before a new hire comes along -Feedback Informed policy

    Advice to Management

Everyone I know that wanted to advance has advanced. The management team has mentor like program. There are a lot of inter office job moves.

I worked at Suncoast Center full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The pro is your position has benefits and paid time off.

    Cons

Everything clinical. They do not pay for their employees to receive real clinical training. I am not including E-Learning because that is a joke, and does not teach someone important clinical recommendations and interventions. It is the poor mans version of training, and they need to invest more in their employees, as they are providing mental health services to their clients. Thank God for my first job out of... school, so I could actually have legitimate training at local and Orlando conferences. Also, they should be reported to the dept of health for their unethical behavior. They want to reach their 'productivity' numbers, so licensed supervisors encourage their employees to double book clients in case they have a no show. If both clients show, each is given 30 minutes. If that is what you want your community mental health centers to offer your at-risk families, than you don't truly want to see improvement in the statistics.

    Advice to Management

Stop keeping your heads down and wake up to reality. You can't fix problems with the same thinking you had when you created them. Time for a change in your leadership and management team. Even in 2019, you are still operating the same as you did 3 years ago. I get clients from your center still, and they still have the same things to say. At least you got rid of Wagner. The only reason 3 stars was selected under... career opportunities is because you seem to always be hiring since you can't keep employees. That should be your biggest clue you need to change your ways.

  7. "If you need medication management do not come to them can be very dangerous"

    StarStarStarStarStar
Current Employee - Teacher in Chicago, IL
    Doesn't Recommend

I have been working at Suncoast Center full-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

Relevant to the DMV take a number and they will come see you

    Cons

    Unprofessional, incompetent and possibly dangerous

    Advice to Management

The staff at this center, need to understand the well-being of their patient. The nurse/RN make many errors with patients’ medication when calling them into the pharmacy. When the patient tries to call the medication hotline describing the error made, with the pharmacist on their side… your staff does not correct the problem. Instead of Communicating with the pharmacist and or patient about the proper ... medication for their patient, your staff behaves with Negligence and hostility toward the patient and tells the them that the mixup was their fault and refuses to correct the problem. They tell the patient that they will deal with them at their next appointment instead of handling the error on hand. This disgusting, inappropriate behavior by your staff can be very dangerous and detrimental to that patient.. The staff at this center need to understand the well-being of the patient. This type of Incompetence, attitude and miscommunication along with the refusal of helping the patient may very well lead to a lawsuit.
