    Cons

Pay is not competitive for the work load

Policies are not enforced fairly for all members
Policies and procedures that should be standard are handled differently depending on who your talking to

    Advice to Management

    Get a new CEO
Training needs to be more thorough
    Pay needs to be increased
    Policies need to be stricter
Members with more money shouldn't be given more leeway than others
Break up cliques that form and favoritism between sups and their teams

I have been working at Suncoast Credit Union full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I could write so many wonderful things about this company. There is so much potential for growth if you make yourself known. Everyone is treated like family. Their main priority is not other their members but their employees as well. They are so philanthropic and allow you to meet senior staff and VPs when you start. I can say with confidence that this is the best company I have worked for. It says a lot that our managers have been here for decades.

    Cons

The communication between employees and upper management isn't as clear as it could be. Also parking is a pain. Anyway, every place had it's flaws.

    Advice to Management

It is very important that those under management come forward with their concerns. I know it may be difficult to reach out to a manager but they are people too and have similar experiences. I do hope management listens more to their employees.

I worked at Suncoast Credit Union full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Team/family environment. I loved working for this company. The only reason I left was because I moved to Colorado to be near my husbands family. I miss the company and the way they treat their employees.

    Cons

Scheduling vacation can be a hassle

    Advice to Management

Keep treating your employees like they matter.

I worked at Suncoast Credit Union part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I worked with Suncoast for 3 years while I went to school. They are a great company that I would recommend to anyone looking to work in the corporate world. They go out of their way to make sure that their employees feel appreciated. The pay was good for the position that I held and the environment was not very strict, it was somewhat laid back. Management was extremely friendly and made you feel apart of the team.

    Cons

Job repetition and dealing with sometimes rude people on a day to day basis, but that's inevitable with any customers service job.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work.

I worked at Suncoast Credit Union full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Standard Benefits, nice co-workers, food trucks

    Cons

Good to bank with but not to work for. They bend over backwards for their members but not employees. 2-3-decade long management that consists of older people who are not up to date with modern business practices and lack common sense. Does nothing to retain exceptional employees or hear feedback and take action. Don't work here if you're looking to move up into management, not much opportunity due to the entitled beginning-of-time management with traditional management techniques and carry no education/degrees. Left for another local credit union who actually values their employees and is surprisingly much more technologically advanced than even the ‘number one credit union’ in Florida.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. SVPs/Senior Staff probably don't hear employee concerns and wonder why employees are leaving. It's because managers and VPs fail to escalate feedback or ideas to you - especially when it comes to employee retention. You guys are losing great employees. Remember, word of mouth is big, especially when an employee leaves to a better company who makes them feel valued and they recruit others to join them.... and these are the people who actually have education and bring value to the CU.
