    I worked at Sunday Business Post full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    This company is in the newspaper business — which is always interesting; supportive colleagues with excellent expertise; decent holidays; good staff parties.

    Cons

    Unpleasant management which displays no appreciation of the contribution of the highly professional journalistic staff; long and often unsocial hours; poor benefits;

    Advice to Management

    Start showing some humanity in your approach, rather than just counting the beans.

    Pros

    Good staff. Friendly and helpful. Encouraging with new ideas and supportive. Not micro-managed. A really good product that has a loyal following.

    Cons

    In an increasingly tough economic environment and the move towards online on the constant increase the business will remain tough.

    Advice to Management

    There needs to be a focus on new ideas rather than trying harder at old or current ideas. More online activity.
