    Pros

    Decent benefits and compensation package
Lots of talented individual contributors at this organization

    Cons

Plenty of incompetent C level executives.
They laid off too many important contributors and hired more worthless VPs.

    Advice to Management

    Stop hiring VPs.

I have been working at Sungard Availability Services full-time

    Pros

Great place to learn, good benefits

    Cons

Uncertain future, the company is sourcing jobs to India and Costa Rica. No quality assurance with overseas employees. Low morale, company is always looking for a way to save money and cut stateside jobs.

    Advice to Management

Treat people like people, not just a number.

    Pros

The company is starting to come around to the lack of security controls around their products. Plenty of opportunity for training and security conferences.

    Cons

At this time they are very cash strapped and that effects how/who they hire. mostly recent college grads. It's not possible to train these people since the engineers are over worked.

    Pros

Used to be a great company, used to love going to work, great people. Pay and benefits pretty decent, flexible.

    Cons

The company is cutting costs and keeps paying off to re finance some debt, at first it was roles to offshore and product based mostly, now it just seems to be the great people who really are the biggest supporters of the company. It's awful and depressing and no one wants to go to work. I think this company is a sinking ship and will not exist as we know it in 6 months.

    Advice to Management

Be transparent, always feeling like there is a target that you're the next one being "chopped" is awful for morale.

    Pros

Work from home, that's about it

    Cons

Very poor leadership, can't make decisions and when they do, they make the wrong ones. No great products to offer, company is constantly downsizing. Morale is horrible. Just a real down place to work.

    Advice to Management

Stop getting rid of all your good people and keeping the dead wood with big mouths and bog egos. Having non technical VPs running technical projects is killing the company's morale and we don't deliver as a consequence.

    Pros

I guess you could consider yourself lucky if you live in the United States and still work for SungardAS?

    Cons

    - They have laid off so many people you now get to try and perform the work of 5 people on your own.
    - In 2017, they have laid off over 300 US employees, today being another one of those magical days where you see people getting their notices.
    - Without hesitation, 3 days after announcing mass lay offs, they send out an e-mail announcing they hired more executives.
-In all of my years of work, I have never seen morale so low at a company. Several people, including myself, are actively looking for new jobs.

    Advice to Management

Stop lying to our customers and your own employees about the health of the company. Treat your employees like adults.

    Pros

The US Resources that are left are knowledgeable, except for sales and solutions.

    Cons

Turnover, layoffs and offshore resources that do not understand US businnessses.
No real updated documentation of processes or procedures since mass layoffs.
Firing entire departments has crippled delivery of the most basic services to clients.
Clients are being sold solutions that require operational intervention to overhaul or redesign.

    Advice to Management

Follow Chevron's move and start the house cleaning at the top... drop Andy.

Also, last one out of this mess, please turn off the lights.
