Pros
I worked at sungrade for 1 year. And it was the best year of my life and best job I’ve ever had. I grew immensely as an individual and made amazing friends. Gained massive amounts of confidence and implemented news habits and ways of thinking that literally changed my life. A lot of the structure on how sungrade operates has shifted, for the better! When I first started it was a little to hard core and had a bit of a frat style culture. But half way through my time here there was a change in management. And I have absolutely nothing bad to say from there on out. Sungrade gives you some of the best sales training you will ever receive. The managers genuinely care about their reps. The culture pushes you to do your best in sales and grow as a person, but isn’t overwhelming and allows you to have a sense of independence. The commission structure is unbeatable, from an entry level business development role up to your experienced account manager position there is an amazing opportunity to make great money. It’s structure makes certain that everybody gets fed regardless of position or experience.
Cons
Keep in mind when applying or reading the reviews on here that this is a commission only position and like any other sales job you will have your good months and your bad months. The majority of negative reviews on here are before the restructuring of management and does not reflect sungrade’s current environment. Sungrade is a hidden gem in the solar industry and if you are looking to break into sales for the first time or if you are already an experienced sales vet, there is no better place to be.

Director of Site Operations
Oct 5, 2017 - Director of Site Operations in Walnut Creek, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
I've never worked for a company that allowed you the freedom to succeed and grow like this before. I was hired to help build a new department. Walking into the job, I expected to be told how they wanted this done, that done, and when it needed to be done by. I was expecting to get some marching orders like every other job I've been at. I was EXTREMELY pleased to find out on my very first day that it wasn't like that at all. They trust my judgment with everything and gave me the creative freedom to truly build the new department up, while at the same time always being available to assist with anything I need or answer any questions I may have. Unbelievable! This is a young company, so growth potential is amazing. I'm excited to help with and witness Sungrade grow from a Solar company in California to a nationwide company. I haven't met one person in this company from the CEO down to the sales agents that isn't an amazing and supportive person.
Cons
"What are some of the challenges of working here?" Well, me personally, I like to be challenged. So that's a pro for me! I haven't found any frustrating parts yet though. If you are looking for an easy job, don't work here. Just don't. But if you're looking for growth and opportunity. If you're looking for a place that can take your skills and experience to the next level, even if that's going to be applied to future jobs, this is a great place to do it.

Everyone in the company is highly motivated quality individuals who are mutually supportive and all accelerating towards a similar goal. We work in a booming industry that is still in its early stages of growth and we get to provide a service that not only saves people money, but has a positive impact on the environment as well. Pros
Only good part of the job was getting to work out of my home
Cons
Company lacks communication, no transparency, and management is absolutely terrible
We are sorry to hear about your experience. You may have gotten hired during difficult times of the pandemic when we had to adapt to the times and reverse engineer a lot of systems in place to accommodate remote work. It was a learning curve for all of us. I hope yourself and others can understand from a business perspective of unknown unpreparedness, we do everything in our power to make a viable work environment and try to do things strategically. The lack of communication may have been better worked on. Now that we have trialed and error in prepared awareness for the unknown, such as the pandemic, we hope moving forward we are able to handle these situations more delicately in the future should something of this nature happen again. We apologies for any inconvenience they may have caused you. We were working really hard to keep everyone a float so we would not need to let any of our wonderful staff go due to circumstances of the economic turmoil. We wish you the best on your next endeavors and in time can see the hardships we all shared. Feel free to reach out to my department or self to let us know how we can better improve for the future. Sincerely, Michael - Hiring Director

The most amazing company to work with
Oct 18, 2017 - Senior Sales Consultant in Walnut Creek, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
At Sungrade you are in control of your income. Your pay is reflective of the amount of work you put in as well as how much impact you make in the world. I've been an entrepreneur and had many learning experiences before working here and this is a dream come true. The energy is young and vibrant, and the people who run Sungrade are among the most beautiful and humble human beings I've ever met. If you want to make a certain amount of money, you can go help people save money and the planet to achieve your goals. It's a little crazy to think about sometimes, but that's how it works here.
Cons
I guess cons would be that working here is NOT for everyone. Sungrade is solely for ethical, hardworking people who can stay organized and consistent. Because you make your own schedule, working here means being committed to what you're doing. If you have a lot on your plate already or other interests, sungrade probably isn't for you.
