I have been working at Suniva full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good work schedule to have days off during the week and every other 3 day weekend

    Cons

This company does not believe in Family or "life happens." If something happens to a family member you are responsible for and therefore have to leave shift early, it's counted against you. Also, management can spend time with their families during Holidays, they require you to still be at work. 24/7-365. And also, for the type of work being done and the quality being strive for, the pay is bottom of the barrel to be located in a technology park.

    Advice to Management

Listen to your employees. You hire them so you must feel they are knowledgeable enough to work for you, but not enough to give advice on how to get more production out of them.

    Pros

    Very nice people
A great quality product you enjoy making
    Easy to learn new areas

    Cons

Company just starting out so there is a lot of change but even so there is a lot of learning lessons in developing something from the bottom.

    Advice to Management

Keep listening to your employees ideas and don't forget that the people at the bottom of the totem pole matter as well. Do that and your business will continue to prosper ten fold. Good Luck!

I have been working at Suniva full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    Easy work for pay
    Great employees
    Vice President very approachable

    Cons

    Lack of communication
    Lack of set direction
    Lack of tools
Morale low due to production demands
Demands for production unrealistic with current process in place

    Advice to Management

Get SOP in place and stick to it. Do not change process from week to week and expect results. Also, get some equipment. It doesn't make sense that people have to buy their own equipment to do this job. Love working here, it just needs a better system in place.

    Pros

Inside job building solar panels, Mfg environment, 3 different shifts to choose from, good starting pay, profit sharing, benefits, paid vacation days available within the first 60 days

    Cons

Still a start up operation, Still having issues keeping materials supplied, Using used equipment from China that is always breaking down. Floor management doesn't always fit a persons expertise with the position they are assigned to. They hound on the people who work hard and ignore the wanders that get nothing done. Definitely not the equal opportunity employer they claim to be...

    Advice to Management

listen to the employees, put them in positions they are better qualified to do. Treat them as equals and not by color or race. get the floor set up properly so there is less chaos and smoother production. and get some Air condition in the building before it's too late.
