I have been working at Sunnyvale School District full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

teacher-to-teacher support, great teachers and school community. Good parent support at some schools and high-level of expectations from teachers.

    Cons

The administration lacks respect and support for teachers. They have lost a lot of respect from employees. The morale of the district has plummeted and teachers are very unhappy.

    Advice to Management

stop ignoring your employees` needs and input. Having an unhappy teacher is not good for the class.

    Advice to Management

Should provide more professional development training or workshops for para educator.

I worked at Sunnyvale School District part-time

    Pros

There were none in the short time of my employment at this district.

    Cons

The school was a huge mess! The classroom I worked in was insanitary -- there were no wipes, tissue or toilet paper for students. Carpet was seemingly dirty and had huge stains that stayed until the last day of school. We relied on parents to donate to the classroom. The bathrooms were always messy and dirty. Imagine helping a student use a toilet in those conditions. I'm glad I left the school with a better opportunity.

    Advice to Management

Look into hiring more custodial staff to clean the school.

I have been working at Sunnyvale School District part-time

    Pros

Flexible schedule, you can take as many or as little jobs as you'd like. You can also form professional relationships with the teachers so that they can request you to sub for them.

    Cons

There aren't any cons for the district. Subbing is a difficult job as you never know what you will be thrown into and how the kids are going to treat you.
