I worked at Sunrise Senior Living full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Nice pleasant looking environment, staff and management nice mostly, fast paced so day goes by quickly, rewarding experience helping people

    Cons

Supervisors sometimes showed favoritism, too many residents assigned to one person in the am so couldn’t give people time or attention they needed, got physically hit at time but I worked the the Alzheimer and dementia residents so expected.

    Advice to Management

Try to make sure to have enough staff to cover morning shifts so that they don’t have to break their back trying to have everybody bathed, restroom, and dressed before breakfast

I worked at Sunrise Senior Living part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The residents were lovely to work with! The interior and exterior look like a mini mansion!

    Cons

The turnover is high. Experienced RN's BSN's paid below a new graduate pay in the hospital setting. They had medical assistants with 2 days of training passing narcotics and doing same work as RN. Company mainly concerned about appearances to the public, NOT the care provided to their residents due to very critically low RN to resident staffing ratios. Disgusting. Worst job as a RN in my career history! Thankfully I did not stay long! Treated the worst ever. If you care about your patients, you will not "fit in" with other RN's

    Advice to Management

To the owners: someday you will have to stand before your God and provide an accounting for your actions; therefore, think twice when it comes to ethical decision making in your company.

I have been working at Sunrise Senior Living full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Home-like atmosphere for residents and staff.

    Cons

Poor budget planning on staffing needs.

    Advice to Management

Please consider spending more money on staffing and less on beautification. It's beautiful and doesn't need to be constantly updated.

    Pros

You can easily advance in the company

    Cons

Since early 2013 management didn't want to hear about our problems. Before that the old executive director had an open door policy. You could talk to her about anything

    Advice to Management

Learn how to listen to your staff!!!!
