I have been working at Sunrise Senior Living full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I’m a Sunrise lover. My particular community has been wonderful. Lots of room for advancement and they treat their employees well. Work hard for them and they will work hard for you.

    Cons

Can be very stressful at times. MUST be able to multitask and prioritize. As coordinator you are on call 24/7. Basically you need to eat drink and breathe Sunrise. So if you love it, it’s great. If you don’t love it, you won’t last.

I worked at Sunrise Senior Living part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I would definitely speak highly of them because of their genuine hospitality to their residents. I would hire in again if I ever needed employment.

    Cons

I wasnt compatible with the hours requested of me.

    Advice to Management

Work with us and vice versa.

I worked at Sunrise Senior Living (More than a year)

    Pros

Coordinator was amazing and listened to suggestions and complaints. Always worked with us to fix problems.

    Cons

Some people should just not be in this field of work. They put no effort into the care they give the residents.

    Advice to Management

People shouldn't be held simply because they have been part of the company for a few years. It lets them get lazy and the residents end up being the ones to suffer because they just don't care any more.

I have been working at Sunrise Senior Living full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

They have a great reputation and probably have the best training in assisted living, by far. You will easily get hired once they know you came from Sunrise.

    Cons

I've been in a coordinator position over 10 years, and will probably never advance from here. Some of the positions are dead end. Sunrise does not pay as well as most of its competitors. All of the community positions are WAY overworked.

    Advice to Management

Corporate: Stop taking YEARS to make changes. Your communities are drowning in work. The care needs have gone up and up but the staff doesn't increase. You can't hang on to coordinators because they can always find better jobs elsewhere. At least give the communities a clerk to help take some of the load off of the coordinators.

I worked at Sunrise Senior Living full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Very well organized corporate structure. Solid policies and processes. Great culture for internal promotion in all departments.

    Cons

Very strict oversight. Zero tolerance. Not sure about corporate wide, but in the particular location where I worked, there was religious (christian) overtones. Not against it, but not in the workplace.
