I have been working at Sunshine House Early Learning Academy full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

One of the best reasons to be a part of the Sunshine House is the love and passion to provide a fun, safe, learning environment for children.

    Cons

Working in the early care industry requires a lot of passion and energy.
It’s 100% worth the investment into the lives of children and their families!
I can’t imagine doing anything else.

I worked at Sunshine House Early Learning Academy full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Co-workers were great, everyone was knowledgeable and willing to help their fellow teachers. Had good relationships with my co-workers. Directors threw us parties and gave out gifts every once in a while.

    Cons

The ratio of student to teacher was stretched too thin. One teacher to every fifteen three year olds. One to every nine one year olds. Too little pay for the work. Everything was a little run down.

    Pros

    NONE Run for the hills!!!

    Cons

HORRIBLE Management, favoritism. Lie on your reviews, very kitsch operation, HIGH Turnover. Could use some developmental organizing from top down the leadersship is uneducated with CDA and dont know nothing They are lazy too
I only did it for check and so children would have a good teacher. I hope our director moves or gets fired , only way i might consider returning .

    Advice to Management

Get an education. Stop hating on teachers and support them or you will lose in the end.

    Pros

    THERE ARE NONE HORRIBLE PLACE

    Cons

NO ACCOUNTABILITY FOR TEACHERS FROM MANAGEMENT . Prior to working here, I had worked in a daycare and had experience in an elementary school. I have never in my life seen people treat children so horribly. The teachers are underpaid and undertrained. Under paying them leads to them not doing their job. Director does not check on how teachers are providing for children educationally or within their basic needs of diaper changing and feeding. Children a sit in dirty diapers all day and are forced to take naps twice as long as they should be. Another teacher put her hands on me in front of my students and the director did NOTHING about it. That teacher still teaches the two year old class there. NO MORALS OR VALUES

I worked at Sunshine House Early Learning Academy full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Lots of opportunities to support healthy development of children . To have fun while learning.

    Cons

Directors not honest about hours. Constant ratio problem Never able to impement curriculum because every kid left from each age group ended up in the school age after school room. Never able toactually do the lessons that I spent time and energy to plan. Directors did not help in class even with Exceptional Child (School Age) in the room needed diaper changed. Not properly trained to deal with exceptional child.
    Babysitting Not teaching

    Advice to Management

Stop worrying about that bonus and keep employees happy. Not kosher to have an employee rush to work only to have to sit off the clock and wait to work. Respect people's personal time

I worked at Sunshine House Early Learning Academy full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

had great staff and families that I interacted with

    Cons

the director wanted me to only help her, not the teachers. salary was less than what i would've made hourly as a teacher, benefits were non-existent. the company was all about money and not necessarily what was best for the kids

    Advice to Management

make sure you know who is running your building, ask staff to rate management
