I have been working at Sunshine Retirement Living full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great regional support. Work, life, balance is not just spoken.. it's lived by. Another great perk is you can stay at any community we have a guest suite.

    Cons

Vacation time needs to be longer but from what I was told they are looking to revamp that.

    Advice to Management

Keep listening to the people who work for you. Taking into account their thoughts and concern will keep them tenured.

    Pros

Good place to work, keeps you busy so the day goes by fast. Breakfast and lunch are also provided for the employees. Benefits for full time employees.

    Cons

Under staffed. Large workload, by the time you get home you're exhausted.

    Advice to Management

    Hire more people.

I worked at Sunshine Retirement Living full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Taking care of Seniors

    Cons

No team spirit starting from the top down, there is no help if you appear to be lacking in your job, no action plans or counsel just the axe.

    Advice to Management

You say People, Passion and Excellence, but you’re not about people and your only passion is about the money in your pocket and there is nothing to help your employees become excellent, you’re left on your own. You’re great at setting people up for failure

    Pros

Upper management was very supportive and fantastic to work with. They will support you and help you reach your sales goals as long as your a "team player" and are truly putting in the effort. This is a great company if you are just getting started in your career. May not be for everybody for the long term.

    Cons

Community level management was not supportive and not properly trained in sales. Operations and Sales often had very opposite goals which made the job extremely difficult at times. Too many people giving opposite direction.

    Advice to Management

    Train your ED's in sales!

I worked at Sunshine Retirement Living full-time

    Pros

Loved the residents and management and executive director very good.

    Cons

The yearly pay was way, way below average and not competitive. The benefits are not very good either. I had to pay a deductible of $2,500 every year which meant I had to pay that when I went to the Emergency Room. Yikes!

    Advice to Management

Increase the pay to make it more competitive! Benefits should be more competitive as well.

    Pros

You got to interact with the guest there and some people are genuinely nice

    Cons

No tips allowed, had to clean up pee a lot and we always seemed to be out of cloths. Had to wear cheesy vest.

I have been working at Sunshine Retirement Living full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I enjoy coming to work because of the residents and my co workers. The building is clean ans well maintained

    Cons

Of course i would like more pay for the work I do. I go out of my way for the residents and I am always willing to help out my co-workers Some co-workers are not enjoyable to work with but that is because of the person they are!

    Advice to Management

Thanks for always helping out when we need your assistance and being flexible with the schedule
