I have been working at Super Lucky full-time for less than a year

    Pros

The building is near public transit. People are genuinely super nice. The culture is casual, but hard-working. Crunch is NOT a thing here, unlike most other game studios! Management is transparent and looks out for everyone. I didn't have to do a whiteboard code test for my in-person interview! (probably not a guaranteed thing for all interviewees, but at the very least, they totally understand if you don't personally perform well in those kinds of tests)

    Cons

It can be difficult to get to know people outside of your department. Food and rent in the area is expensive, and seems like it will only continue to get worse.

I have been working at Super Lucky full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Everyone works hard which inspires you to work hard as well. Management is direct, friendly and cares about a good work/life balance. Great group of gamers to work with! Definitely one of the best companies I've worked for!

    Cons

There can be a lack of inter-departmental communication but in the time that I've worked here, it's already gotten better.

I have been working at Super Lucky full-time for more than a year

    Pros

This company really cares about it's employees. Coworkers feel like family. Managers are teachers not dictators. Fully stocked kitchen. Opportunity to grow. Everyone is hardworking. No crunch times. No mandatory overtime. Work-life balance is good. Team based interviews (entire team has to approve of potential new hires). Everyone gets along with everyone.

    Cons

The location. Commuting 3 hours a day is hell. Most people can't afford to live in the city, so commuting isn't a choice, it's a requirement. It's also not cheap.

I have been working at Super Lucky full-time for less than a year

    Pros

At SLC, there are no deadlines and there is no micromanagement. This is great, but it doesn't mean people are there wasting time. Work moves quickly and everything you work on is something that will be released. There is plenty of room for growth and everybody has a voice.

    Cons

Pros for some are Cons for others. The office does not have a lot of funny business. There are no nerf gun fights or regular catered lunches, and the office is pretty quiet overall. While this is a con for some, not having to deal with "bro culture" and getting bigger bonuses instead of free lunches is a pro for me.

I have been working at Super Lucky full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

    - Every person here is relaxed, flexible, professional, with a healthy sense of humor. - Highly efficient office mindset - very little tolerance for time-wasting nonsense. No prolonged meetings, no real distractions. - Awesomely transparent in business plans and goals. - Very flexible work from home policy, there is absolutely no reason for anyone under the weather to be physically in-office getting other people sick. - Company leadership is brilliant but subtle, and would gladly explain any decision they've made. I totally trust the higher-ups to continue making the best decisions.

    Cons

    - Office is located downtown San Francisco, where rent is already high, in a city with ever-rising rental costs. Conveniently located near public transit, but still not ideal for most people.

I have been working at Super Lucky full-time for more than a year

    Pros

    - Good location, in Market district - Very good pay. - Benefits include above-average time off, health, dental, and vision insurance. - Excellent communication. I really can't over-emphasize how good SLC is at creating a workplace where communication, cooperation, and collaboration are valued. - AVOIDS common game industry pitfalls, such as exploitative work hours, or using freelancers or short-term contracts to avoid paying benefits. SLC is committed to its employees as people. - Lots of growth opportunities. Employees are routinely given the opportunity to advance in their department, or to switch departments if they show promise in a different part of the company. - Highly agile company. Responds to market shifts quickly and effectively.

    Cons

Pain points are quickly addressed. I have no complaints.

I have been working at Super Lucky full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Team members are highly skilled and enjoyable to work with, in a non-hierarchy where everyone can contribute. Company is transparent, and promotes a great work-life balance. Company is flexible - makes changes to process or tasks as needed to improve employee satisfaction.

    Cons

The company itself hasn't had any major cons for me, however the location (big city environment, tourists, horrible commute and commute length) would be my biggest gripe.

    Neutral Outlook

I have been working at Super Lucky full-time

    Pros

-The two founders are really knowledgeable about the casino game domain, which is fantastic -The management seems to care about employees and are always available to talk -Co-workers are really friendly, helpful and approachable -You usually know the result of your work and it doesn't get lost like in big corporations -Teams work collaboratively -No office politics Overall, I would give the company a 4.5 because even though it's a great place to work, there are definitely some cons. The company is definitely thriving and seems to not be stopping anytime soon.

    Cons

It's a great place but there are a few cons like: -Some managers don't like to give up control over projects and tend to micro- manage and not allow for growth -The company seems to care more about tenure than skill. Both are important, but there are times when skill should be given preference -There is no room for vertical growth
