I worked at Superior Health Plan full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Pay is good; benefits are good; management is fair

    Cons

They say they believe in promoting from within but it didn't workout for me. Inadequate training or no training at all. It's sink or swim.

    Advice to Management

Get better training program and give time for employee's to gain the knowledge before throwing them out there to do 100% of the job.

    Pros

great benefits and pay is terrific

    Cons

Management is very bias, too many relatives working here! You aren't given opportunities based on experience and knowledge, its based on who you know and if you want to kiss up!

Heavy workload, silo departments, insufficient training, too many systems to review to get to the root cause of providers complaints, under staffed

    Advice to Management

Have a general idea of the day to day operations of your staff.

I worked at Superior Health Plan full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pay for some if you are not starting at the bottom.

    Cons

The people, the culture, the old boys club and the low standards for everything across the board but especially noteworthy is the dumb-it-down or suffer mentality because the management here are so ignorant that they will hurt their reports in their reviews if they try to illustrate that they actually have a brain. Dumbest cohort of people I have ever worked with, the most depressing environment and about 80% of the staff is obese, yet they are in the medicaid business. The question is why would you work here in Austin unless you truly have no skills, no self respect or are lazy and are okay with sitting in front of a computer all day while cruising Facebook on your phone. This place smell of death the minute you open the door. If you are not depressed when you start, I give you six months. I actually felt like my brain atrophied after being there. I am now in a über fast paced environment where brainpower is expected and appreciated and I feel like I am still wiping off the cobwebs.

    Advice to Management

They would have to be capable of understanding the advice but that is not possible with the incompetence of everyone there starting at the top.

    Pros

Pay is decent. Benefits is okay. Non - management team are really good people. You make friends and really good pot lucks

    Cons

The work and mandatory overtime for this position is not worth it! There is no work to life balance . If you don't have PTO and have an emergency it's counted against you. All the supervisor are/where friends so you can't talk to one without the others knowing.

    Advice to Management

The entire place and staff needs organizational structure
