    Pros

Can earn 75k fairly easily, great benefits & car allowance. Good equipment & training, Salesforce is King

    Cons

Tough work life balance - expect you in field @ 8AM - ok if your territory is nearby, if you need to travel to downtown Boston can be more difficult.

I worked at Supermedia full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Pay is around 50k good for a spring board job

    Cons

Was a leader in digital sales for this company and the only thing they could offer me was a unemployment check. They do not vale any inside sales person and outside sales has to deal with way to much for the pay. No chance for promotion and company is all about making a buck not about the quality of employees or product.

    Advice to Management

Was lied to and told about advancement when in reality they were waiting to get rid of everyone.

I worked at Supermedia full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Benefits, Commision, some co workers.

    Cons

Micro Managers watch your every move. Listen in on sales calls and sit behind you while you are trying to present, criticizing everything you say and do.
Too many meetings! There are meetings about the meetings.
A new digital product introduced often, very often, to try to bring back dying yellow pages revenue.
Most products do not work as presented to the clients- therefore many unhappy customers.
Emphasis on new business, minimum 70 cold calls a day. Ruthless badgering of small to medium business owners.
Sales team encouraged to back stab and steal clients from co workers.

    Advice to Management

Stop Micro Managing and stick with a few good products that really help small to medium businesses grow!

I worked at Supermedia full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Decent pay for entry level position. Had all the standard perks one would expect from a large corporation: Vacation time, Bonus Pay, Daily, Weekly, Monthly and even yearly awards and spiffs.

    Cons

Sold worthless products, like pay for call, which never generated any calls for many clients, or PPC, which ate through clients budget in no time, and produced far less than desirable sells, though some clients did benefit. Nearly everyone from my training class lost their job, or quit, most within the first 3 months, and the rest within 6 months with only a few making it a year, or longer.

    Advice to Management

Get a real education in corporate management, and don't speed through Supermedia's training.

I have been working at Supermedia full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Non-leadership people are really good people. Average benefits and decent salary.

    Cons

Executive team has their heads stuck in the sand. There is no room for creativity or alternative viewpoints. Failure to always agree with an opinion frequently results in loss of employment through mismanaged reduction in force processes. If you are not liked, you are out the door.

    Advice to Management

Grow up. Make business decisions that truly benefit the business and not your bonuses.

    Cons

dying industry. no clue regarding SEO or SEM on the digital side. recent merger will not be good for current salespeople. major workforce reductions coming

    Advice to Management

be honest. merger will not be good. stick to core products and quit changing products.

    Pros

The actual job, training and account support. Merger with Dex has been smoother than anticipated. Tech support is available to aid customer support.

    Cons

Mid level management does not allow Account Managers to do their jobs without being berated and even cursed at in front of other employees including office staff. Many F words dropped in front of everyone. The women of the staff have tried to complain but our complaints went nowhere. Customer support does not follow up with customer issues all the time or in a timely manner. Emphasis is placed on selling product first, not taking the time to find product package the a customer will be happy with and more likely renue or add onto.

    Advice to Management

Upper Management needs to listen to complaints and enforce the rules on handling the employees that are included in the Employee Manual.
