I worked at Superunion full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Everyone is really respectful and it has a really good vibe. The clients are big and this gives you some name. The global agency has been put great work out in the world with the new structure and creativity is being elevated. Learned a lot in two of their offices, being in NY most of the time. Another nice thing is that they put their designers and senior designers out in the world and push them to be client facing,...

    Cons

The agency in new york have a heavy corporate legacy that is good for CV and experience, but sometimes hard to put the best work out there. Fortunately this is changing a lot with the new agency and directions and some really interesting clients are coming to the agency. It’s nice to have the balance.

    Advice to Management

Keep moving in this direction on finding the balance on the heavy big clients that pays the bill with the new sexy clients that are keeping all fresh. And most important…keep being nice to people like it happens now. People value this a lot.

I have been working at Superunion full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Not a particularly stressful place to work. You’ll do well if you’re ‘loud’ or ‘fun’.

    Cons

Creative is honestly not as strong as some of the other agencies out there. ECD is not the most inspiring or well known within the industry; which in turns influences hiring. Design is pretty lackluster, and our work environment can be quite unprofessional and playful at times.

    Advice to Management

Maybe cut back on the direct recommendations/referrals. It doesn’t make us competitive if we’re just importing ‘friends’ from our old jobs as opposed to actually bringing in people with the right skills.

I have been working at Superunion full-time for less than a year

      Pros

Has some forward momentum, both in quality of work and culture. Have corporate accounts, but atmosphere is generally pretty casual.

      Cons

Communication from leadership is inconsistent. Mean well, but cause confusion amongst day-to-day teams.

      Advice to Management

Articulate a plan of action, and clearly communicate next steps. Tap senior staff to help as needed.

I have been working at Superunion

      Pros

There is an opportunity to work with an agency that is re-inventing itself. There are a wide range of skill sets within the agency and the future is up to the agency to create.

      Cons

The vision of the agency is not clear. The New York office is somewhat of an anomaly vs the rest of the international network.

      Advice to Management

Treat people within the agency more as a 'family' - its a small team and too much happens 'behind closed doors'.
